Board Members Needed!

Our Chapter is looking for three new board members:  Membership, Finance and Social Media.  Here are the responsibilities of each:

Finance and Records Director (Required Position) - While this list looks daunting, a lot of this has already been set up and is on a timetable.  Our finances are not too complicated.  If you can balance a check book, you can do this.

The Finance and Records Director position manages the following:
-Filing of required Chapter Minimum Standards with LPGA HQ

-Develop / Monitor Budget
-Year End Financials
-Tax Returns
-Business Requirements

Membership Director (Required Position) - Ideally, this position should be filled by two people.  One person to actively recruit new members and work with the events committee on member recruitment events.  The second person would nurture the new members and work with the board to mentor and nurture the new members.

Manage and oversee promotion and hosting of member recruitment events and activities:
-Member Welcome Program and On-boarding Process
-Member Orientations
-Member participation
-Volunteer recruiting
-Volunteer recognition

Social Media Director (to assist Marketing Director) - this position would assist the Marketing Director by updating current social media accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram) and looking for opportunities for social media interactions.

If you are interested in any of these positions send an e-mail to CONTACT.LPGAAMATEURSLOUREG@GMAIL.COM.

New Membership ModelAGA18 Logo - LPGA Amateur Golf Association - Louisville Region KY - Secondary

In the past LPGA Amateur Golf Association memberships were up for renewal the month you joined. Beginning in 2020, all memberships will be moving to a calendar year model (January - December). When your dues expire in 2020 you will be paying a prorated membership fee for the remainder of 2020. For 2021, all memberships will expire December 31, 2020. However you will have a grace period through March 15, 2021 to renew.

Here's an example. Many of us joined LPGA Amateurs in March or April. When we renew our memberships in those months (in 2020) we will pay $10 for each month remaining in the year. So if you are renewing a Classic Membership in March you would pay $90 (9 months x $10). April would be $80 (8 months x $10). If a new member joins in 2020, she will pay based on the prorated formula.

If you have questions about the new membership formula, send an e-mail to membership@lpgaamateurs.com.

Online USGA Rules Tools

The USGA has the following new online tools for learning the Rules of Golf:

A Short Course on the Rules,” is a new, regular content series. Each piece will feature a specific topic highlighted by a short video and an 18-question quiz to test your knowledge (made up of a “front nine” of easier questions and a “back nine” of harder questions). Detailed “thoughts on the round” will be released later, which will include answers to the quiz questions as well as broader topic discussions based around each question.

The first edition of the Short Course is about playing the course as you find it. Watch the video, take the short course quiz, and opt-in to join the leaderboard for the chance to be featured with the top scorers.

The Virtual Rules School, a comprehensive video series covering the Rules of Golf using pictures, animations and videos to help bring the Rules to life – and allowing you to learn at your own pace in the comfort of your own home, or on the go.

Lastly, individuals can join the USGA Facebook Rules of Golf Group for a friendly discussion on the rules of golf.
