The LPGA’s top priority is the health and safety of our LPGA Amateurs Chapters, members, employees, and volunteers in the US and select international locations. With that in mind, here is where we stand on the situation:
At the moment, our recommendation to LPGA Amateurs Chapters is to suspend all group gatherings (including events, activities, leagues, etc.). However, we advise that you take into consideration the guidance of your local government/health authorities as well as the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization.
On March 16, 2020 the White House shared 15 Day Guidelines to reduce the spread of the virus which recommends avoiding social gatherings of groups of 10 or more, please also consider these guidelines.
We believe the BEST course of action is to simply suspend the Chapter activities for the immediate future to alleviate any anxieties and re-evaluate your local conditions in the next month or so.
If our Chapter decides to host an event, we will post signs and share resources with participants in regards to hygiene practices.
The LPGA Amateurs Association will continue to monitor the situation (daily) with local health agencies and governments, the CDC, and our partners in the sports world (PGA Tour, PGA of America, WTA, MLB, NBA, etc.).
The LPGA Amateurs Association is on industry-wide conference calls with the organizations and are doing our best to stay informed with the changing landscape.
The LPGA Amateurs Association understands that this virus brings some uncertainty and nervousness, please know that we are doing all we can to ensure the health and safety of our members.
