10 St. George Chapter Members participated in the annual Joyce Billings Memorial Tournament October 11 & 12 at Sky Mountain Golf Course. The Tournament benefits Youth on Course, a program that subsidizes participating courses, allowing them to offer $5 rounds to youth golfers. $11,000 was collected for Youth on Course!!!
Our Chapter sponsored a tee sign and donated the $5 per event per participant that we have been collecting all year. We donated $420! Members Pat Dalpiaz, Karna Peters and Barb Berrett also sponsored tee signs! Members Pat Dalpiaz and Susan Spivey put in countless hours organizing the event, from finding sponsors, raffle prizes and silent auction items along with the other organization an event like this demands.
Joyce Billings was a driving force in the growth of Women's golf in Utah.
Her love of the sport led to changing the level of play for women while fighting for equal time on the golf courses. She was always willing to share her skills and expertise in a humble and thoughtful way. Over the years, Joyce was also President of the Women's Utah Golf Association, and held several other leadership roles for many State and National golf tournaments. The name Joyce Billings became an icon to women golfers all over the state of Utah.
Members of the St. George Chapter regularly get together to play some casual Golf!!!

The team of Pam Rapplean, Sue Rinehart, Deb Calegory and Lisa Crane won in a card off with a score of 68! Congratulations!!

The cold, freezing weather kept us inside due to the frozen short game practice area. We improvised and had an indoor clinic with LPGA/PGA Pro Kathy Cho (www.kathychogolf.com) reviewing chipping and pitching! Remember GAPS (Grip, Aim, Position, Stance) and BLT (Ball Position, Lean, Tilt)!!!
No more January clinics!!!! BRRRRRRRR!!!
