Fresno - San Joaquin Chapter
Upcoming Events

We are inviting all women who are interested in learning to golf or improving on their golf game to join our 5 Week Golf Clinic Series with Jim Perez at Bluff Point Golf Course.

Starting January 4th- February 1; Saturdays from 1-2pm
Cost for whole series is $80 for members (including balls)
and $90 for non members.

Immediately following the golf lesson from 2-3:30 pm is league play using scramble format which eases everyone from new golfers or those women just brushing up on their skills to be in a relaxed, fun environment.

Please spread the word to any women friends who might want to try golf -and to also meet future friends for life.

Chapter News and Announcements
  • Joyce won First Place Low Gross 4th Flight in a dramatic sudden death playoff. Joyce was also the First Place Low Net Super Seniors Champion.

Fresno was well represented on the National Championship Tournament by Joyce Crane, Julie Howe, Jasmine Maetas, Jodi Asher,Linda Steiner and Maureen Cook. Fun was had by all. Congrats to the Fresno Chapter for a very successful golf season.

  • On September 28th and 29th -8 women from our club  represented  our Fresno Chapter in Sparks NV for the annual Western Division Qualifier. Our team battled the elements in Reno and ended up in 7th place. All returned home with smiles on our faces knowing we played well and have golf weather stories to tell our friends. Jodi Asher and Pat Thomason were pelted with gusty wind and driving rain. They returned to the club house as it started to snow. Fresno golf is looking better all the time.
  • With the direction of Marlene Ray our first golf classic was a great success. 76 players enjoyed good golf and fellowship at Eagle Springs. The men , women and mixed teams all felt like winners. The staff at Eagle Springs provided great food for breakfast and lunch after a fun day of scramble golf. Through donations of our community, tee sponsors and fun games we were able to raise over $2800 for local woman's golf community. We intended on benefiting Fresno City College Women's program however 2 days before the tourney we were advised that they would not have a women's team this year. We plan on supporting FCC when they have another women's team.

Phone It In!
Volunteer to be part of our "PHONE TREE" Posse

We are in need of 10 to 15 volunteers to be part of our Phone Tree Posse.  Make telephone calls to fellow LPGA Amateur members and personally invite their participation in golf, education and special events throughout the year.

I'll take up very little of your time plus you'll have the opportunity to engage with members you might not otherwise - and might even find some new golfing partners!  Most importantly, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you made an important contribution to the continuing success of the Fresno Chapter of LPGA Amateurs Golf Association.

Here are the answers to some questions you may have:

WHEN?  "Phone Tree Posse" volunteers will occasionally (3-4 times per year) be asked to call 10-15 chapter members to invite and encourage their participation in a specific event - for example, the Annual Kickoff Brunch or a sponsor's social event.

WHERE?  Calls can be made from the comfort of your home - or anywhere else - that works for you.

We want to ensure that EVERY member benefits from all the events, special activities and FUN we have to offer. .  We particularly want to reach out to new members so that they feel welcome, understand the various events and have an opportunity to ask questions.

So, what are you waiting for!
