It's taken eight years and some blood, sweat and tears, but our Chapter has now grown to over 100 members! This is a particularly sweet milestone for our chapter so we celebrated at our first ever annual meeting, held on January 16th.
Our Chapter Leaders served dinner to our Members, and shared our successes and plans for 2025. We met new members and shared chapter stories from along the way.
Thanks to everyone who joined us and a
HUGE shout out to our Leaders for making it happen!
It was a great day at the Sixth Annual Snowflake Scramble, held this year on The Lakes Course at Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach, to benefit Hibiscus Children's Center Emergency Shelter in Jensen Beach.
Thirty-two of Santa's elves, representing four Chapters, brought a sleighful of toys and raised an additional $260 to make sure the kids have a great holiday.
The game was a step aside scramble on the drive only. Our winners were:
Low Gross with a score of 67: Brett Peterson, Maureen Pinnix, Denise Ryan and Terese Sikma
Low Net with a score of 57: Brigite Babine, Kristen Signorelli, Joanne Torcivia and Sue Whittington
Our Most Honest team came from the Brevard/Space Coast Chapter: Amanda Mitskevitch, Cathy Mulqueen, Janice Mysliwy, Tracy Thompson.
Thanks to all who participated!

The 2024 Cup Finals have concluded, and what a great experience it was. There were 240 women from 60 Teams, 55 Chapters and 2 countries competing for The Cup at Indian Springs and Fountains Country Clubs in Boynton Beach. Our team, The Four Divots, fought hard - won some, lost some and tied some matches, and finished in 37th place out of the field of 60. Not a bad showing for our first time!
The Fore Divots Team (L to R): Joanne Torcivia, Susan Murphy, Brigite Babine and Captain Lisa Rabant |
Our team met some lovely LPGA Amateurs from all over the country during our matches; most of them had competed in this event before.
The event culminated with an appearance at the awards dinner by LPGA Legend Beth Daniel. |
This was such a great experience, from preparation, to playing in the Regional Qualifier and ultimately competing in the finals, we hope more members will consider participating next year.
Congratulations to the 2024 Cup Champions - Philly GHIN and Tonics from the Philadelphia Area Chapter! (Rita Ann Gilson, Barbara Ost, Sally Simpson, Kim Six)
2nd place:
302 Crew - Northern DE Chapter (Monica Ayres, Billie Carberry, Laurie Erikson, Amy Shenyo)
3rd place:
Boston Party of Fore - Boston Chapter (Adrianna Carrillo, Jacqueline Corcoran, Robin Duffy, Thalia Holmes)
4th place:
Par T of Fore - Central PA Chapter (Barbara Bohn, Amy Braun, Dawn Lamarca, Chris Zuzack)
5th place:
Birdie Bandits - San Diego & Palm Springs/Desert Cities Chapters (Robin Banner, Karen Bridges, Stacey Hayashi, Bethany Selan)
See you Next Year!
Two of our teams competed in the Regional Cup Qualifier in St. Petersburg for two hot days on August 15-16, 2024. Day one was fourball match play and day two was individual match play. Teams came from all over Florida as well as places afar, including Dallas, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts to try to qualify to move on to the National Cup Championship.
Led by Captain Lisa Rabant, The Fore Divots team of Brigite Babine, Susan Murphy, Lisa Rabant and Joanne Torcivia played hard, hung in there and won enough points to place Seventh overall and will move on! to compete in the The South Regional Cup National Cup Tournament being held in Boyton Beach.
The team of Party of Fore - Linda Norton, Judy Combs- Penna, Maureen Pinnix and Georgia Wiley (captained by Denise Ryan) played mightily, never gave up and just missed qualifying by .07 points.
Everyone on each team was able to enjoy the weekend, see old friends from other chapters and make new memories on and off the course. It was a terrific weekend!
Once again, many members enjoyed getting together for 9 or 18 holes each Thursday afternoon at Hammock Creek to "compete" for prizes and bragging rights.
Thanks to Sue Whittington for organizing and keeping everyone informed about the weather...which was a challenge!
What better way to kick off our Thursday night Summer League than a cocktail party hosted by our League Coordinator, Sue Whittington. Sue opened her home to us on Thursday May 30, 2024 to go over the "rules" and weekly games and give everyone a chance to introduce themselves to fellow competitors. The Thursday night Summer League has become one of the most-anticipated and fun events for the chapter and the kick-off party definitely lived up to expectations.
Thank you Susan and here's looking forward to a great season. Interested in joining? Read more about it here.

Full Swing? covered by LPGA pro and chapter member Laurie Rinker. Chipping? Covered by LPGA pro Debbie O'Connell. Putting? You bet we had it covered by Master Instructor Marie Claire DeBortoli.
After the on-course instruction and wonderful appetizers, Debbie O'Connell discussed how to stay positive and leverage that during your round. Huge SHOUT OUT to Joanne Torcivia for spearheading the planning efforts to Susan Murphy and Deb Miron for helping to pull this clinic together!
We won last year's inaugural event, hosted by the Palm Beach Chapter at Madison Green. As a result of our victory, we are hosting this year -- which means home field advantage at Jensen Beach Golf Club! If you've played there, you know how much fun, and how much of a challenge it can be. This year's event will be on Saturday, July 20. The format is 2-person four ball match play. We are in need of six additional players to help Captains Susan Murphy and Joanne Torcivia Keep the Cup.
In order to make this as fair as possible, we are going to have a "qualifier" to fill the remaining spots. If you are interested in playing, here are the rules:
We'd love to have everyone play Jensen Beach on June 22nd as the the Tee it Up Cup Team will be practicing match play that day. Everyone else can choose to either compete in their own round of match play or play a casual round of golf.
Additional details are as follows:
Team Composition: Teams consists of eight (8) members who have a verifiable USGA Handicap Index. The maximum allowable Handicap is 40.0; competitors with a handicap higher than 40.0 will play with a Course Handicap equal to that of a player with a 40.0 handicap.
Format: Four-Ball Match Play. Match Play is a format of play that is scored in a hole-by-hole competition; within each foursome, the team with the lowest net score on a hole wins that hole.
Location: Jensen Beach Golf Club
Four foursomes went toe to toe at this year's Shamrock Scramble last Saturday. While none of teams made it all 18 holes with the Shamrock ball still in their possession <gasp!>, there were TWO TEAMS that lost their ball on the 11th hole. In a nail-biting, net score play off, the Team of Jeanine Berman, Karen Dick, Janet Writer, and Pat Potocny emerged victorious.
Be sure to join us for these fun events! Mark your calendars now and watch for the registration to open to save your spot!!!
Brigite completed her Associate Degree in Golf Management from Keiser University, finishing with a perfect 4.0 GPA!
Sue Whittington, Denise Ryan, and Maureen Pinnix all helped her to celebrate her graduation this past weekend. Brigite is also pictured below with The White Tornado, Donna White - former LPGA pro who was the Director of the School of Golf Management and one of Brigite's instructors.
What a huge accomplishment! Way to go Brigite!
First, let's thank everyone who participated in this year's Holiday Shamble! Not only did the ladies show up in style, they also brought unwrapped gifts which were subsequently donated to the Hibiscus Children's Center in Jensen Beach.
Everyone had a great time and prizes were awarded for best team scores as well as for longest drive, straightest drive, and closest to the pin.
And a special shout out to the Jensen Beach Golf Club Ladies 18 League for also donating three large bags of toys as well.
Treasure Coast members, Georgia Wiley and Wendy Jennings had a FANTASTIC time at the LPGA Amateurs Scramble recently hosted by the Dominican Republic Chapter.
Mark your calendars for the following fun events in 2024
The Board and Committees thank you for your feedback and we hope to see you at all our events!
