  • TEE BOX! - Aug 16, 2025

    Members of the St. George Chapter of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association had a BLAST at the St. George TEE BOX!!!

    The Blue Team (pretending to be Europe) beat the Red Team (pretending to be the US) in a 5 hole Scramble played at Brandon Dunes! Sue won the Closest to the Hole on #2 with 4'11"!

  • Summer Virtual Scramble - Jul 30, 2025
    The St. George Chapter of the LPGA Ams fielded three teams for this summer's Virtual Scramble!  The Virtual Scramble raises funds for the LPGA Amateur Golf Association Women on Par Scholarship program.  Teams around the world play a scramble at any par 72 golf course and the LPGA Ams uses an algorithm and handicaps to determine winners. The event raised almost $18,000 for the Scholarships and Grants.  The three teams had fun times even though they didn't win!

    -The best result in the Competitive division was the Who's Your Caddie Team of Kelly White, Barb Berrett, Deb Calegory and their friend Rochelle Hurst.  They T10 Gross with a gross score of 67 and T8 Net with a net score of 56!!  Great Job!!

    - The Sultans of Swing team of Kathy Butler, Patti Jo Johnson, Nicole Hirst and new member Sue Rinehart T16 gross and T16 net with a gross score of 72 and a net score of 60!  Way to go girls!!

    * The Desert Diva team of Kelly Downey, Keri Thomas, Susan Spivey and Pattie Owens T21 gross with a gross score of 74 and T23 net with a net score of 61.  So Close! 

    Think about playing in the Winter Virtual Scramble expected to happen next winter!  All for a great cause and so much fun!!!

  • Chapter Members Volunteer at the EPSON and Legends CopperRock Championships - May 27, 2025

    St. George Chapter Members volunteered at the EPSON and Legends events held at CopperRock Golf Course in Hurricane, UT.  For Pattie Owens it was her fifth year volunteering at both events.  She was given a special 5 year pin for this feat!  Kathy Bulter volunteered for the second year at the Legends event.  She is proud of the picture she was able to get with one of her idols, Laura Davies.

  • Snowbird Sayonara Scramble - May 11, 2025

    The St. George Chapter said "Goodbye for the season" to our Snowbird members with our 9 Hole Snowbird Sayonara Scramble at the Links at Sand Hollow. It was a beautiful day for golf but it will be getting hot soon!  We had a great time! See you Snowbirds in the Fall!!!!

  • Evening at The TEE BOX! - Apr 22, 2025

    We had a great time at The TEE BOX last week.  Attempting to get on the 7th green at Pebble Beach...Playing "Capture the Hole"!  We played the first two holes at Black Rock!  The Red Team won with even par!!! 

    There are children's programs, lessons, PT, leagues, so much fun to be had!

  • SLC Chapter in St. George - Apr 16, 2025

    The SLC Chapter made their yearly spring trek to golf in St. George April 10-13.  They invited our Chapter to join them for Golf and their Social Welcome Get-Together.  Several of our members were able to join them for good times!

  • Sweetheart Scramble II - Feb 25, 2025
    A full field of 16 played Saturday, February 22 in our Sweetheart Scramble II.  We played the 9 hole Links course at the Sand Hollow Resort followed by lunch at their Grille.   Three teams tied with 35 with the winning team in a card off of Pat Dalpiaz, Carolyn Buck, Kathy Butler and new member Cori Lentz.  Closest to the hole on #4 was Libby Lovell.  Check out the LIPS!  Pictures in the slide show!
  • 3rd Annual Short-Game Clinic - Jan 28, 2025

    The cold, freezing weather kept us inside due to the frozen short game practice area.  We improvised and had an indoor clinic with LPGA/PGA Pro Kathy Cho (www.kathychogolf.com) reviewing chipping and pitching!  Remember GAPS (Grip, Aim, Position, Stance) and BLT (Ball Position, Lean, Tilt)!!! 

    No more January clinics!!!!  BRRRRRRRR!!!
  • Christmas Get-Together - December 10 - Dec 12, 2024
    Chapter members got together at Silver Reef Brewery for a Holiday Get-Together.  Great Food, Drink and Company made for a memorable evening.  The Gift Stealing game didn't have very much stealing but was fun!  Pics in the slide show above.
  • Joyce Billings Tournament for Youth on Course - 11-16/17 - Dec 12, 2024
    Many LPGA AMs - St. George Chapter members participated and volunteered at the annual Joyce Billings Golf Tournament at Sky Mountain Golf Course in Hurricane, UT.  (Pronounced hurriken).  The Tournament honors Joyce Billings who played an important part in the growth of Women's golf in Utah.  The Tournament raises funds for Youth on Course.  Our St. George Chapter sponsors a hole!  Several of our members are part of the organizing committee.  See pics in the slide show above.
  • Putting Frivolity II - November 14 - Dec 12, 2024
    Members gathered for an evening of Putting and Social time on the 9 hole putting course at Big Shots, St. George, UT.  It was SO cold.  So, only one round of putting!  The food and drink was great, followed by Big Shots Thursday night Karaoke!  Who knew we had singers in the group!!!!  See pics in the slide show above!
  • Golf for (F)all Scramble!! - Oct 9, 2024

    What fun it was!!  Our Golf for (F)all Scramble held Saturday, October 5th at Sky Mountain Golf Course in Hurricane.  The views are incredible!  The course was great!  The play was fun!  Our members are awesome and we had three guests!  Hope everyone joins us for our next events!!!

  • BEAT the HEAT II - Aug 20, 2024

    Keri and I "traveled" to Scotland for BEAT the HEAT II!  We played several holes at The Castle Course at Back Nine Golf!

  • LPGA Ams Virtual Scramble - Aug 6, 2024

    The Strokes of Luck (aka S-O-L!!) represented the St. George Chapter in the LPGA Ams Virtual Scramble playing The Ledges in the 100 degree heat on Saturday, August 3!  With a +4, 76, tied for 21st out of 58 teams in the Competitive group.  The event raised over $15,000 for the LPGA Ams Scholarship program!

  • Beat the Heat - Jul 16, 2024
    Four members Beat the Heat of the St. George, UT summer!  We played several holes at "Pebble Beach" Thursday, July 11 at The Back Nine indoor golf.  There were snacks and "adult beverage" infused pineapple, strawberries and grapes provided by our President Keri Thomas.  It was great fun!  Join us next time!
  • EPSON/Legends at CopperRock May 2024 - May 28, 2024

    Several of our Chapter Members volunteered at one or both of these events.  Other members took advantage of the Free Entrance our memberships affords us!!!

  • Snowbird Sayonara 05/14/24 - May 21, 2024
    Six of us gathered at the Hive 435 Tap House for snacks and drinks followed by desert at George's.  We got together to say Sayonara to several of our Snowbird members.  Looking forward to their return in the fall!!!
  • Putting Frivolity at Big Shots! - Apr 24, 2024

    We had a blast putting on the very difficult Big Shots putting course, followed by delicious food and drink at their Anthem Kitchen!

    We will be doing this again in the Fall, after the heat!!!!

  • Short Game Clinic - 3/23/24 - Mar 27, 2024

    Had a great time at our Short Game Clinic last Saturday, even in the wind and sprinkles.  LPGA/PGA Pro Kathy Cho gave us great instruction on putting and chipping...Distance & Direction!!!  Several of us stayed to play 9 holes in the wind, what a fantastic course!  Very difficult, pin point golf!  Looking forward to going back to play the full course.  We will make a date!!!
