DetailsThe Habitat StablefordSaturday, October 24, 2026 - Starting tee time 10:00aStableford formatFor our October event, we are returning to The Habitat golf course in southern Brevard County. And we are going to play a forgiving scoring format we haven’t used in a while called The Stableford. Many have probably played it elsewhere, but do you know the history of this scoring system? It was developed by Frank Barney Gorton Stableford (1870–1959), to deter golfers from giving up on their round after just one or two bad holes. Does this sound like a fun way to tackle a challenging course like The Habitat? Absolutely! If you want to read more about this format, check out this link for a simple explanation with some examples: Stableford System DescriptionThe Habitat is one of the prettier courses in Brevard. It is surrounded by the natural Florida landscape with lots of wildlife, and each hole is unique and challenging in its own way. You need to have a handicap to compete because this scoring is done relative to par with net scores. If you do not have a handicap, and want to compete, contact the event coordinator.We will be playing the GREEN tees. These tees are the most forward tees for the course, and come in at over 4900 yards.Registration Fees: $54/MemberIncludes round, cart, and practice balls. Field is limited to 36 players; if we reach the limit, add your name to the waitlist. Please plan to bring $10 exact change cash for prizes.if you have a guest who would like to play, contact the event coordinator for addition to the list and pricing.If you would like to volunteer at this event, note that in your registration- volunteer tasks could include helping at checkin, taking pictures, assisting with scoring, and greeting newer members and helping them meet others. DetailsFriday, November 13Starting tee time 9:20aBoat Tour time: 2pmWe will be playing at the Winter Park 9 course for our November event. Note that it is on a FRIDAY this month, and it is in the Orlando area. This course is approximately 2480yds and is a Par 35. It is similar to walking 9 holes at Rockledge Country Club. There are only 4 riding carts available (8people total, first come, first serve).
It is a Golf and Go Event, meaning we have 5 tee times reserved, and you will pay at the course. You can either set up your own foursome to play, or we can pair you with others. We will not be scoring the round as a group. We will send your tee time the day before the event. We have a boat tour of Winter Park set up for 2p after everyone should have finished their round and had a chance to get lunch. The boat tour is 1hour. You can join the boat tour for $18(payable at the boat dock) and/or have the afternoon to go shopping on beautiful Park Avenue in Winter Park, as this lovely course is in the heart of Winter Park.
