In early November, the chapter fielded a Wine Country CalCup team with a clever name: The Vineyard Birdies! The team played two rounds at Griffith Park in Los Angeles. A fun time was had by all. Thank you to all our members that participated.

First, aren't you glad we didn't do Closest to the Pin?? How crazy long were those Par 3's? With a field of 36 golfers, we split the group in two, with two flights in each half, and then scored low net, and low gross.

The weather was a lot cooler than expected and we had a crazy start to the day due a traffic jam that delayed several golfers. Thanks to all for going with the flow as we revised tee times as golfers arrived at the course. Everyone did make it and fun was had by all.

We had two flights and played low gross, low net with 1st and 2nd places in each flight.

A tough course for most, challenging for a few and a walk in the park for one or two!  We had all the weather points covered, started with overcast, gave way to sunny sky, and moved to windy conditions to end. We gathered on the patio to share stories and handed out prizes.

Thanks to all who played with us at Blue Rock Springs on June 22nd. We were treated to warm weather with no extreme heat like many parts of the country. The greens were challenging so it was a good thing that we were not counting putts. Congratulations to the winners in our two flights!

It was a glorious day on the course. The weather was perfect and the course was in great condition. Twenty women gathered for golf and good cheer afterwards. Congratulations to Tracy Hogan who won lowest net in Flight 1, and Diana Van Kessel who won lowest net in Flight 2.  Diane Brocco, Diana Van Kessel, Marie Reis and Vicki Marinovich all took home a prize for closest to the pin.
A round of applause also goes to the only foursome who didn’t lose their red ball: Diane Brocco, Kathy Herrero, Katy Moranda and Denise Rose. 

Highlights from our April 13th event at Presidio Golf Club

We braved the San Francisco weather (50 degrees but dry) for a fun round at the beautiful Presidio Golf Club. The course was in great shape and there was lots of bounce and roll on the fairways (a bonus to driving distance!). 

We played low gross/low net with two flights and closest to the pin. The winners are: Flight 1; Vickie Cota with a low net of 97, Rieko Sata and Agnes Manguiat tied with a low gross of 78. Flight 2; Bette Caan with a low net of 109, Susannah Clark with a low gross of 78. Closest to the pin went to Rose Zamudio and Agnes Manguiat.

A good time was had by all.
