  • September 24, 2019 - Fun evening with the LPGA Amateurs York-Simcoe chapter as we celebrated our season with a lovely dinner at Cardinal RedCrest and had a spectacular sunset as well. Thanks to our board for organizing a great season.

    Be part of the York-Simcoe Board!

    LPGA Amateurs York-Simcoe is a 100% volunteer organization that benefits from the talents of our members!

    Reasons to volunteer:

    • To give back to an organization which has helped you.

    • To meet more members outside your league.   

    Board Member Positions are Open!

    President – Oversees the cohesive running of chapter activities. Represent the York-Simcoe Chapter, liaison with LPGA Amateurs – Canada the US. 

    Memberships - Membership recruitment and retention, liaise with LPGA Amateurs – Canada on membership items and communication with members.

    League Chair -  Liaison with course, set play format, weekly challenges, season awards, monitor attendance and tee times.

    Handicap, Rules & Education - Assists members to use handicap system; verifies handicaps for competitive events. Works with to help coordinate events & seminars.

    Communications & Marketing – Updates the Chapter and Canada’s websites, manages member communications, liaise with LPGA Amateurs – Canada regarding communications.

  • Congratulations to our York-Simcoe finalists!

    Ladies from 8 different Chapters squared off in Kitchener for the Upper Mid-East Regional Qualifier.


    Congratulations goes to Megan Bawn and Monique Rodrigue for advancing on to the finals taking place in Mission Hills California!

    Grabbing 2nd place honours in their flights were Carol Buchinski and Jacqui Mutch.

    The York-Simcoe ladies had a great time! Hats off to the Waterloo Region chapter for doing such a great job of hosting this event.

  • British Open
    British Open Pool

    There were 17 people in on the action for our first ever golf pool event. Tensions ran high as ladies used various methods for choosing their golfers.

    Yarinka B (who joined us from GTA chapter) cleaned up, winning both Day 1 and the Overall Winner by picking the Irishman, Shane Lowry. 

    Day 2, 3, & 4 winners were Anne S, Jeannette, and Lesley. 

    Many thanks to Megan Bawn for organizing and running this fun event.

  • Ladies playing match play

    The 2019 Match Play Series for York-Simcoe is underway.

    Due to the size of the field, a pool format is being used to give flexibility for scheduling and to allow us to get through the requisite number of rounds to reach a season finale.

    The Preliminary Rounds (2 per person) must be completed by July 31st. 

    Please check what pool the draw has placed you in, and reach out to each other person in your pool to schedule your matches.  There is also a tab with the guidance information.

  • Local York-Simcoe Qualifier (formerly Chapter Championships)

    The LPGA Amateurs Championship is the largest women's amateur golf tournament of its kind with more than 2,400 members participating. With 5 flights of competition and Inter-Chapter Team Scramble formats, this competitive tournament golf appeals to members of all skill levels.

    It all starts with the Local Championship Qualifier in your Chapter. In York-Simcoe this is taking place on Sunday, June 23rd at Red Crest.

    Important Dates:

    Registration Deadline: June 6, 2019 Midnight

    Handicap Revision Date: June 15, 2019

    An official LPGA Amateur Golf Association or GAO Handicap Factor is required to participate in the competitive format.

    You must register on this site (to pay) AND on the US site to be confirmed.

    How to register:

    1. Complete your registration on the Canada site first (payment required).
    2. Also complete your registration on the US site. Go to Golf Genius LCQ site: www.LPGAAmateursChampionship.com
    3. Login with LPGA Amateurs U.S credentials (email and password)
    4. Click on Events
    5. An overview of the Championship is available here along with 2019 Player documents
    6. To see the list of Chapter Events: 

    I.        Hover over or click on " 2019 Championship"

    II.        Click on "2019 Local Championship Qualifiers"

    III.        This page will open with all the Chapters within their sectionals

    IV.        Click on York-Simcoe, ON.  It will be under UPPER MIDEAST

    V.        Select the Registration Button on the left that states: " Register Now for York-Simcoe, ON Local Championship Qualifier.

    1st place stroke play winners (Low Gross and Low Net) in each handicap flight and the 2 Low Net scoring teams for scramble play are eligible to advance to the Championship Sectional Qualifier on Saturday July 27, 2019 at Rebel Creek Golf Course in Petersburg, ON

    Sectional qualifiers will be competing for an opportunity to advance to the Championship Finals at Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa in Rancho, CA.

  • New LPGA Amateurs York-Simcoe Website

    New webiste!As part of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association transition all of the Chapter websites are moving to a new platform.

    We are in the process of completing the transition including registering the .CA web address, updating email addresses etc.

    Your patience is appreciated as work continues.

    Effective April 28, 2019, York-Simcoe's old EWGA site will not longer be updated. That site will eventually be decommissioned.

    If you have feedback about the new site, please let Jacqui Mutch (our Chapter Communications Lead) know.
