AN OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE A TRIP TO OUR CANADIAN NEIGHBORS!

Good morning ladies and greetings from Ontario!

I am contacting you with an invitation from the Ontario Event Committee, a group that organizes and delivers events for our 7 Ontario chapters.  Each year, we hold three events: a 4-person team Scramble event, a 4-person team Match Play event, and a 27-hole, 2-person team mixed format event, known as the Trillium Challenge.

We would love to have members from our US neighbor chapters join us for the All-Ontario Scramble Open this year, to be held June 1 and 2 at Hidden Lake Golf Club in Burlington, an easy one-hour drive from Niagara Falls.  This is a 2-day team event, and features a shotgun start each day plus a dinner reception on Saturday night, both designed to offer maximum opportunity to socialize!  While it is a competitive event (using Ambrose team handicap method), we also welcome teams without handicaps to join the non-competitive division to enjoy the various on-course games and camaraderie.

The Hidden Lake facility has two 18-hole championship courses, and we will be playing both.  We are delighted that we can offer a shotgun start on both days for this event - these have been scarce as hen’s teeth since the pandemic, really difficult to secure, so this is a major feature for this event!  We will be hosting an optional three-course dinner social on Saturday evening, at the golf club, with lots of opportunities to catch up with old friends and meet members from others chapters.  We have also secured a preferred group rate at the Holiday Inn in Burlington, about 10 minutes from Hidden Lake.

The price for this event should be very appealing:

Early Bird Price: $285 CAD (approximately $206 USD)

Optional dinner: $40 CAD (approximately $29 USD)

Hotel Rooms: $179 CAD + taxes = $210 CAD (approximately $152 USD)

Registration is now open at 2024AllOntarioScramble.GolfGenius.com.  Early Bird pricing is available until April 15th, after which the Bogey Price goes into effect, so get your team together and register now!

Please note one nuance with the event registration:  the Canadian Chapters use a separate instance of Golf Genius which means it only recognizes Canadian members.  We can’t see members from other Chapters so in the registration process for this event, US based players are referred to as “guests” or “non-members”.  Please rest assured that this is a software quirk and that we recognize that players from the US Chapters are full LPGA Amateurs members!

I am delighted to extend this invitation to your Chapter and am requesting that you share this information with your members.  If they have any questions, they should reach out to the Event Manager, Megan Bawn.

Looking forward to seeing you in Burlington!

With best regards,

Alison
