Team Eagle Hunters will compete at the Reunion Resort. The team is captained by Sandra Williamson.  Earning the right to move on with Captain Sandra are Rebecca Clark, Mary Pat Franz, Kathy Kampman, Donna Livingston, Lisa Spooner, Jane Walter, and Robin Wilson. Congratulations to all!
  • Congratulations to team Daytona for securing the win at this year's First Coast Challenge.  We had a great turnout with 30 players per team and a few more ladies who joined in with fun play on June 23rd at the King & the Bear at World Golf Village,.  The weather was blistering, but Daytona held up strong and came away victorious.

It always such great fun to get together with women from the other chapters across the state.  We are looking forward to the 2020 competition which will be hosted by Daytona.
  • First Coast Sweeps Championship Flight at Harbor Hills by Ginny Kavanagh

It sounds like a bad mystery novel. It was a dark and stormy night. Well it was a dark and stormy day at Harbor Hills Golf Club for the NFSE Sectional Qualifier. As reported by Lori Collins, the practice round went off on Friday without a hitch. The weather was great and most of our team was able to practice.  Saturday was a completely different story. The tournament was set for an 8:00 shotgun start. The deluge began at 7:45 and by 8:30 the rain was so heavy, visibility was down to zero.  Even if the rain stopped immediately, the course would surely be under water.  Play was delayed. Lori complimented those in charge for giving the players an update every 30 minutes. When it was still raining at 11 am, the players were offered an early lunch.  At 12:15 it was announced that the players would go out for 9 holes. There was a distinct possibility that it would end in a 9-hole tournament. The players went out to play 9 holes.  The scramble teams were on one side and the stroke play on the other. Even though the course had drained extremely well, it was a challenge for all players.  At the end of 9 holes, it was announced that the field would try for an 18-hole tournament. Despite the trying conditions, the intrepid players somehow completed the 18-hole round.

The results were fabulous.  At the end of the day, our Donna Fiedorowicz and Jeri Roche had swept the Championship Flight,  winning gross and net respectively. Myra Balgos won low gross in the Second Flight.  All three are destined for Mission Hills and the National Championship. Congratulations to our team!

  • Members and friends of the First Coast Chapter had an amazing experience on Saturday, March 30th when they visited White Oak Conservation.  Located in northeast Florida along the St. Marys River, White Oak provides conservation options for species that need them most.  It is home to endangered animals such as cheetah, rhinos, okapi and many more.  The wildlife at White Oak roam across 17,000 acres of land in a large, naturalistic habitats.

The property has conference facilities, lodging, and outdoor sports in a serene setting.  Our ladies enjoyed a round of golf, lunch, and an expert-guided tour of the conservation center.  We had a opportunity to feed the giraffes, pet a rhino and visit and learn about their conservation efforts.

Check out the great pictures taken by our members and by Nancy Flynn Photography on our Facebook page at LPGA Amateur Golf Association - First Coast, Fl
