  • A Message from our President
    MAY MEMBERSHIP MESSAGE

    Greetings LPGA Amateurs Southern Maryland ladies and gent:
     
    The golf courses are now open and many of you have expressed that you are ready to play,SO LET’S PLAY GOLF!!!Effective immediately, we are resuming league play, subject to the provisions and restrictions of the hosting golf coursesas well as the restrictions of the CDC and the WHO.This means we can hold our events as long as our players abide by social distancing and any limitations the individual courses have.For the time being, our events will be treated as just golf outings with no gathering after golf.We will look forward to our normal competitive outings as soon as we are able.
     
    We have an opportunity on this Sunday, May 17, 2020 to play at Lake Presidential.The two (2) available tee times for us are:
    • 12:20
    • 12:40
    Each person will receive an individual golf cart (some exceptions may apply).The cost is $65.00.
     
    If you are interested in golfing this Sunday at Lake Presidential, YOU MUST SIGN UP WITH YOUR PREFERRED TEE TIME NO LATER THAN 9:00 TOMORROW MORNING via SignUpGenius.We must provide the final count to the golf course at 10:00 a.m Thursday, May 14.

    There are some course restrictions due to COVID-19:
    • Single cart usage is preferred (For those playing with family members, partners, those sharing the same household or with similar affinity, some courses offer greater flexibility)
    • Park and Play operations are in place. Please plan to pick your cart up to load and unload.
    • Flagsticks must be left in place
    • Rakes may not available on the course or on golf carts
     
    LPGA Amateurs COVID-19 Reminder: All members play at their own risk.Please review and adhere to local, state and government advisories. This must also be included on all of our events communications until further notice.If you are not feeling well, please stay home to fully recover.Here is the link for additional membership guidelines and reminders during COVID-19:
     
    Please govern accordingly and have fun!For increased safety, you are encouraged to also bring your personal sanitizing items (e.g., hand sanitizers, wipes, and/or spray).
     
    We will also resume other events planning and virtual committee meetings.For our new members to the chapter, including our first male member, WELCOME!!!To our returning and renewing members, it’s super sweet to have you continue with us!
     
    As always, I will close in gratitude.The Virtual Happy Hour to kick off this month last Friday was a big hit and WE HAD A BLAST!!!Big thanks to planning committee members Barbara Gray, Bettina Jackson, Debby Skipp, Gloria Posey, Jewel Pearson, and Laverne Franklin-Jones.We had a great time planning this event for you and seeing your smiles and laughter during the Happy Hour was simply awesome!!! Congrats to all of our game winners.In my book, YOU ARE ALL WINNERS!

Volunteer
Through out the year we have volunteer opportunities to assist, such as:

  1. Captain of Golf Event(s)
  2. Planning Social Activities
  3. Assisting at the Chapter Championship- checking players in, taking pictures, etc. 
  4. Making Phone calls
  5. Recruiting new members
  6. etc. 
These really are just a few opportunities that the chapter has through out the season. You can be involved as much or as little as your time allows. We like to utilize your strengths and expertise to assist build our chapter and make every outing a fantastic experience.
