Chapter Events
The San Antonio Chapter hosts several types of events throughout the year.  Note that Texas does not have a "golf season" like many states in the north who deal with snow, so events happen throughout the year. We encourage members to try all our event types, regardless of your handicap, as our chapter focus is on supporting women to learn golf and improve their game, but also to always have fun doing so. We encourage members to bring guests to any event, especially women who may be interested in joining the chapter.

Weekly Updates

Check your email for the latest upcoming events! Emails will come from LPGA Amateurs San Antonio Chapter (LPGAAmateursSA@gmail.com) and are sent on Monday mornings each week.

Weekend Play

On most weekends, the chapter hosts a "Pick Your Play," 18-hole event at one of our many local courses. When registering, you can select either stroke play or scramble format, or you can be open and let the organizer place you in a foursome as needed. We encourage scramble format for players who are new to golf to provide an enjoyable option and to maintain the pace of play on the course. Each weekend event includes some type of closest to the pin prize.

We have always negotiated a special price (typically lower than the regular weekend price) for our members for these events. We look for morning tee time starts when the weather is hot and a later start time when the weather turns cold. Most of the courses we play are also sponsors of our chapter, so we encourage members to play these courses at other times to support them. Be sure to mention your LPGA membership for special pricing at those times also!

Weeknight League/Fun Play

Our chapter does not host a traditional league play. That is, we do not have an ongoing series where scores are kept for all participants throughout the season. Instead, we offer "Wednesday Night Under the Lights" 9-hole rounds at San Pedro Driving Range and Par 3. The par 3 course is lighted for nighttime play, so we have a fun scramble format every Wednesday starting a 6pm (except the 4th Wed of the month--see the next section.) The par 3 offers a chance for you to hone your short game skills or just to relax and have fun. This is also a great option for golfers new to the game. A mix of players participate in these events.

Monthly Clinic at R II M

Every fourth Wednesday of the month, we host a Golf & Wine Clinic at R II M Golf Academy and Driving Range. Members can come learn new skills or brush up on skills for their golf game then relax after with some wine and hors d'oeuvres. Our hosts Rob (Owner and PGA Professional) and Heather (teaching professional) mix up the activities so that everyone has some fun and learns at the same time. These are very popular events. Please visit their website for directions and more information: https://www.riimgolf.com/

Holiday Scrambles

For most major holidays, the chapter will hold a special Holiday Scramble weekend event. Players are grouped into teams of four (or three to even out the groups.) We have "crazy" mulligans--e.g. tee it up from the 150 marker, putt with your driver on a par 3, sand toss, swimming water ball, etc. Members are encouraged, but not required, to dress according to the theme of the scramble. In addition to prizes for team winners, we also have plenty of door prizes. These events are great opportunities to be paired with golfers you may not normally meet or play with at other events. Guests are welcome at these very popular events.
