2024 LEAGUE PLAY

If a particular league interests you, send your name to the league coordinator to get on the mailing list.  She will update all participants with tee-times on a weekly basis; we cannot guarantee that tee-times will be the same from one week to the next.  You will also be given directions regarding arrival times, access to practice facilities, washroom access, etc.  We appreciate your understanding.

WEDNESDAY LEAGUE:  GRANITE RIDGE

We are pleased to inform you that we have a NEW Weekday League added to our current offerings! Starting May 1st, please join Nella S., our volunteer League Coordinator, at Granite Ridge for a daytime Wednesday League.

Located on the beautiful Niagara Escarpment in Milton, ON, Granite Ridge Golf Club offers 2 challenging 18-hole layouts “Ruby” and “Cobalt”. Each will challenge both the experienced and beginner golfer. Rates are as follows: Senior (55+) $50, Regular $66, power carts are extra for $21 per rider (Note: these rates don’t include HST).

The weekly schedule with dates and times is below. If you have any questions, please direct them to the League Coordinator.

THURSDAY LEAGUE: DON VALLEY GOLF CLUB

 

Join us for golf on Thursdays at Don Valley Golf Course.  There are two leagues a 18 hole with tee times starting mid- morning and  a 9 hole with tee times starting after 5:00pm.

The league uses the Golf Genius software so once you are registered as a participant of the Don Valley league you will receive 2 weekly emails (Sunday evening) to register for the following week's Thursday play (10 days later) for either 18 or 9 holes. Carefully respond to the correct email by clicking “Playing” or “Not Playing” to indicate if you are interested in playing 18, 9 or not at all. Volunteers will attempt to reserve enough tee times to accommodate all interested members on a weekly basis.  Email with playing partners and tee time will be sent to you on Friday afternoon.

Check the course website  for current green fees. 

Please arrive at the Pro Shop 20 minutes before your tee time to pay your green fees and get to the first tee. If you are sharing a cart, please wait for your cart mate before checking in.

 

SUNDAY LEAGUE: HIDDEN LAKE GOLF CLUB

Join us on Sunday mornings at Hidden Lake Golf Club in Burlington.  Tee times start at  10:00 am.  We have three tee times with 10 minute intervals.

The green fees are to be paid in the pro-shop at the course.  

Sign up emails through Golf Genius get sent 2 weeks prior to play.

The registration deadline each week will be Sundays at 7:00 pm - places may be available after that time, based on availability within our tee-times.

Tee-time confirmations will be sent out to registrants by Tuesday prior to play.

If you need to cancel a booking, please contact the Pro-shop directly and the League Coordinator as soon as possible to allow us time to offer the spot to another player; cancellations within 24 hours may be charged.

SUNDAY LEAGUE: LAKEVIEW GOLF CLUB

The league will start once the course is open. Lakeview is looking at opening early April based on the weather.  The Sunday league at Lakeview offers morning and afternoon tee times. Since the City of Mississauga does not allow us to have guaranteed tee times, we need to book tee times weekly. If you wish to be join this league email Maria

Important changes this season at Lakeview:

Residents of Mississauga can book tee times one hour before the general public. It’s important we have volunteers who live in Mississauga to help book tee times this year.  Please contact Maria if can you help this season.

The rates for residents and non-residents:

For Sunday: Non- Resident $92.84 (tax incl), Resident $88.20 (tax incl)

After 12:00 pm they will offer rates for Senior (55+) Non-Resident at $62.24 (tax incl), and Senior Resident $59.13 (tax incl), but no other discounts for non senior players. 

 

SUNDAY LEAGUE: PICKERING GLEN GOLF CLUB 

 

Join us early on Sunday mornings at Pickering Glen Golf Club in Pickering.  Tee times are generally between 9 am and 10 am, depending on course availability and 16 spots are available.  The green fee is paid at the pro-shop at the course.  The cost per round for walking is $70 plus tax and for riding $90 plus tax. The league uses the Golf Genius software so once you are registered as a participant of the Pickering Glen league you will receive weekly emails (Sunday evening) to register for the following Sunday play and is as simple as you responding back to the email by clicking “Playing” or “Not Playing”.  Email with playing partners and tee time will be sent to you on Friday afternoon.

WEEKDAY TRAVELLING LEAGUE

This League is designed for members who want to golf on Weekdays on some different courses in and around the GTA. We have a great lineup of courses for you to try out.  We also plan to organize some fun contests, prizes, "invite a friend" games, and even "19th hole" sessions on occasion!  We hope you can join us to expand your weekday golfing options, meet some new and not-new friends, and have a little fun this season!

• Register your interest in participating in any of the events of the 2024 Travelling League by clicking here.
• By registering, you will get a separate email for each event.  Tee times are usually scheduled to start mid-morning after 10 a.m. 
• Sign up emails through Golf Genius get sent 2 weeks prior to play where you can confirm or decline the invitation for that travelling league event. 
• The registration deadline will be roughly 1 week prior to each event's date. 
• Tee-sheet will be sent out to confirmed registrants approximately 1 week prior to play. 
• If you need to cancel a booking, please contact the League Coordinators as soon as possible to allow us time to offer the spot to another player: cancellations within 24 hours may be charged."

2024 MATCH PLAY

WHAT IS MATCH PLAY?

Match Play is about winning holes – many a match is won or lost by just a single putt!  It’s impossible to predict the outcome of a Match Play Tournament since the playing field is equalized by using handicaps. This format is a fun way to compete since one “blow-up hole” doesn’t mean you’re out of the match!

FORMAT

Our goal this year is to make playing in the Match Play League less stressful by setting up the Match Play League to coincide with our 6 existing leagues. We'll be using the pod format as we did last year, with the number of players per pod to be confirmed by who signs up. Hopefully there will be at least 3 in each pod, so everyone is guaranteed at least 2 matches.  Each pod will have a round robin format, so that everyone plays each other once.  Winners of each pod will move on to the playoffs.

PREREQUISITES

• Membership in the LPGA Amateurs - Greater Toronto Area (GTA) chapter
• Maintain a current Handicap Factor through Golf Canada

• Registered in at least one of our GTA leagues

RULES OF PARTICIPATION

All players must observe the following:

KEY DATES

1. Match Play Registration:  March 25 to April 21
2. Pods formed; participants notified:  April 24
3. Complete play within League Pods starting April 25 until July 15
4. Complete play in Semi-finalist Pods by August 31 (matches will be played on neutral sites TBD). 
5. Complete Championship Match by September 30 (match to be played on neutral site TBD).

SEMI-FINALS AND CHAMPIONSHIP

The 6 pod winners will be grouped into 2 groups of 3, based on golf courses geographic proximity (approximately East and West with Semi-finalist courses TBD).

Winner of the East Pod plays Winner of the West Pod for the championship! (Championship Course TBD).
