2024 League Options

Beginner - New to golf, just getting back into golf, and/or looking for a combination of golf and instruction.

Intermediate - Can navigate around the golf course and keep up with the pace of play.

Advanced - Can keep up with pace of play on difficult courses (2 hours for 9 holes). Please be mindful that it can be difficult to keep your pace of play if you are hitting into trouble areas and/or hazards regularly.

Competitive - Can keep score according to the USGA Rules of Golf and maintain pace of play on difficult courses in a competitive golf environment. There is no handicap limit, but players are expected to maintain an accurate and up-to-date USGA handicap index. This includes posting all eligible league rounds after play each week.

*Keeping up with pace of play is valued more than your handicap or skill level, as long as you feel comfortable on the course you choose for your league and confident that you can keep up your pace of play.

Odana Hills Golf Course - Monday 14 weeks - $389 (Intermediate)

First tee time starts at 4:50. No league play on Memorial Day. This popular west side 18-hole regulation golf course is a test to golfers of all abilities and levels. The par-72 course is one of the most popular in the state and hosts several city tournaments each year. The scenic landscape and convenient location off of the Beltline Highway challenges golfers from throughout the Midwest. The expansive clubhouse offers a lounge, locker rooms, pro shop and great food service. A large putting green and driving range complement the facility.

Pleasant View - Monday 14 weeks $311 (Beginner/Intermediate)

Tee times start at 5:40pm. No league play on Memorial Day.   League players are entitled to a discounted cart rate of $8 per rider with two riders per car required.  Pleasant View has panoramic views of Lake Mendota, the city of Madison and the City of Middleton. League play rotates between 3 different nine-hole layouts that offer sand traps, water, hills, woods, marsh and great views.

The Meadows of SixMile Creek - Tuesday 14 weeks - $373 ($202 for Meadows Gold Members & $32 for Meadows Plantinum Members)

Shotgun start at 5:15. No league on July 3rd.  The Meadows is the LPGA Amateurs Madison Chapter's host course and has been supporting our chapter from the start.  The course is 5,269 yards long with water and marsh.  We have a shotgun start, so everyone ends at the same time and heads to the clubhouse for after-golf socializing.  The league has been going strong for years, and is geared for intermediate to advanced golfers.  If you are interested in splitting a league, it is your responsibility to find a partner.  In the event of rain day, each participant will receive a 9 hole golf pass to use at another time.

University Ridge - Tuesday 12 weeks - $497 (Advanced)

Due to special events the league dates will vary, but always on Tuesdays.  No league play June 4th,  July 2nd, or August 6th.  Tee times begin at 4:55pm. University Ridge Golf Course is a U.W. course and one of the best in Wisconsin!  Anyone who's played "The Ridge" knows the front and back nines have sharply contrasting styles, although both let you feel rather well secluded from civilization. The grassy and forested areas aren't marked as hazards so playing from these won't necessarily save more shots than declaring a ball lost. Great variety of holes and very challenging! University Ridge will offer free cart fees for this league.

The Glen Park - Tuesday 3x5-week Sessions - $195 (Instructional/Beginner) NEW LEAGUE

This league will provide a combination of on-course instruction and scramble play at The Glen. Play will be in 3 groups of 4 players each. The scramble format will allow for teams to experience success in a less stressful format. Instructor Sue Shapcott will point players in the right direction on the first tee. She will then join each group for one of the first 4 holes of play. She will give advice as needed. Groups will play the remaining holes without instruction. This league will be broken into three 5-week sessions, so more players will be able to take advantage of this opportunity. Players will be able to register for 1 or multiple sessions.

Bridges Golf Course - Wednesday 14 weeks - $378 (Intermediate)

Tee times start at 4:32pm. With hazards on virtually every hole, this course gives intermediate golfers a challenge and helps sharpen the advanced players skills. There are two tee markers for ladies, which give you the ability to play a long or short game. In addition to sand traps, water hazards and long greens, the course also has a large Golf Range featuring target greens and artificial and grass hitting areas. As an added bonus, players are very fond of staying around and socializing in the Bridges always tasty club house!

Pleasant View - Wednesday 14 weeks $311 (Beginner/Intermediate)

Tee times start at 4:40pm. League will be on the Lakes course.

Yahara Hills - Wednesday 14 weeks $358 (Competitive) NEW LEAGUE

Embrace your competitive spirit in this team net stableford league. Players will be able to score points for their team each week based on net score. Stableford scoring is a point system; instead of counting your total number of strokes for a round of golf, a player's score on each hole is converted into Stableford points. Stableford points correlate to how well you play. The better you play relative to your handicap, the more points you get for your team! At the end of the season, one team will be declared the league champion, and a special MVP award will go to the top point scorer! Teams of approximately 8 players will be assigned based on handicap after registration. Players will be expected to keep score according to the USGA Official Rules of Golf and submit accurate scorecards after each round. Players will also be expected to maintain an up-to-date USGA/WSGA handicap.

Vitense Golfland - Thursday 14 weeks $278 (Beginner Learning League)

The Vitense Golfland spring/summer league is targeted towards new players or players with limited experience and limited golf instruction.  This league will include group lessons in the first four weeks prior to the 9 weeks of league play.  The league will begin on Thursday, May 9th at 5:30 pm and continue for 13 consecutive weeks on Thursdays at 5:30pm through, August 15th.  Please note that if inclement weather prevents on-course play, a round of virtual golf at world famous courses like Pebble Beach will be played using Toptracer in our covered protected Golf Suite area.  No weeks will be missed. The final week will include a fun scramble event with league wrap-up happy hour.  The maximum participation for this league is 36 members.  We will provide additional instructors as necessary to maintain reasonable student/teacher ratios for the group lessons.

The Glen Park - Thursday 14 weeks $384 (Intermediate)

Back by popular demand the first tee time is at 4:30. No league play July 6th. Reopened in 2022, The Glen Golf Park is a unique mixed-use outdoor recreation golf park. Through the ongoing partnership with the Madison Parks Foundation, along with the shared vision and generous financial and in-kind contributions of many community members, the golf park offers a dynamic blend of programmed activities and as well as a redesigned 9-hole golf course, suitable for first-timers and long-time golfers alike.

Rotating Golf League - Monday 14 weeks (Open to all members)

For members that can plan to be free on a beautiful Monday afternoon to play 18 holes, the LPGA Amateur Golf Association - Madison Chapter offers the Monday Rotating League.

There is no sign-up fee for this league that plays at 14 courses in the area. Green fees are payable to the courses we are playing on that day but, you MUST sign up for this League on our Chapter website (as with any of our leagues) and then you must sign up for each course you want to play via a Google document!  Instructions and a link to the Google Doc will be emailed to those who registered on the website before May 1. Play one or play many our dates & locations!

We will be playing every Monday except holidays and special LPGA Amateurs - Madison event weeks from early May through August.  We will have tee times starting at 11:30 (unless otherwise noted in the Google Doc sheet). There will be fourteen courses of varying degrees of difficulty in the Rotating League. Play will be for 18 holes. Each player’s skill level should be intermediate to advanced so we can complete the round in the course required 4 to 4.5 hours.

Rotating League tries hard to make use of Bucky coupons, negotiate special prices & look for specials to keep green fee costs down.  Most players stay after to enjoy food, beverage and to see who won the weekly game.  Emphasis on drive times of 30-40 minutes or less with one or two exciting exceptions to that!

Rain/bad weather cancellations will not be made up.

You must sign up on the LPGA Amateurs of Madison website to receive the Google Docs link.  Then sign up for the individual weeks/courses in the Google Doc. Instructions will be emailed before May 1.
