  • 2019 8th Annual Open Invitational Event RECAP

    Congratulations to all participants of the 8th Annual Open Invitational at Tijeras Creek.  This event is our most popular of the year. We set an event record with 122 participants and enjoyed the course for ourselves.  Does it look like everyone had fun?  YES!  Lots of drawings and many walked away with some serious $$ or bragging rights in their respective flights. See all winners below if you need a loan! (umm...kidding )

    Spread the word for the next Open Invitational in 2020- We hope to continue to grow this great event.

    Get Golf Ready is a series of lessons designed with beginners, intermediate golfers, and those looking to get back into the game in mind.  Get Golf Ready includes the basic fundamentals, new rules, etiquette, and some course play with professional golf teachers. You will practice chipping, pitching, putting, bunker play, short irons, long irons, and woods.  This is a great way to get out onto the course and play and to meet other new golfers in a casual setting!

  • LPGA Amateurs Cup - Looking for a Team or a Player?


    There is still room in many of the LPGA Amateurs Cup Regional Qualifiers for additional teams. To help pair potential players with Cup teams, LPGA Amateurs Golf Department has created a form on the Cup website under Player Docs. Click on this link to provide your contact information if you are a LPGA Amateurs member looking for a team.

    If you are the Captain of a team looking for players, please send a request to golfevents@lpgaamateurs.com and a link to the responses will be provided to you. This will allow Captains to personally contact the potential team members as LPGA Amateurs will not be assisting in matching teams and players.

  • CACTUS CUP WINNERS 2019!

    Congratulations to the member participants of this year's Cactus Cup Match Play event against the Palm Springs/Desert Cities Chapter. The annual get-away event took place at Mission Hills, Dinah Shore Tournament Course in Rancho Mirage CA on June 2, 2019.  OC takes home the Cactus Cup trophy with 11 of 14 wins. One of our strongest showings.  The OC CHAPTER players are CONTENDERS!

  • LPGA Amateurs Cup Registration Opens June 3
     
    The registration for the 2019 LPGA Amateurs Cup Regional Qualifiers will open on June 3 at 9:00pm EDT (8:00pm CDT, 7:00pm MDT and 6:00pm PDT). Detailed registration information can be found by logging into the Member Clubhouse, pressing My Events, then pressing the LPGA Amateurs Cup link. Click on this link to begin the registration process.
  • Act Like a Founder Award

    In continuance of the spirit of the LPGA Staff Act Like a Founder Award and to honor Nancy Oliver, the LPGA and LPGA Amateur Golf Association announced the Nancy Oliver - Act Like a Founder Award.  This award recognizes the “Act Like a Founder” qualities of our dedicated LPGA Amateurs’ volunteers and connects our organization with the LPGA family. 
     
    The Nancy Oliver - Act Like a Founder Award will recognize volunteers who:
    • Display exceptional long-term volunteer leadership and service to the LPGA Amateur Golf Association
    • Exemplify the passion, spirit and mission of the LPGA Amateurs by enriching women’s lives through the game of golf
    • Advocate for the local LPGA Amateurs Chapter and association as a whole
    • Positively engage with LPGA Amateurs members and the local community
    • Desire to leave the Chapter and the LPGA Amateurs Golf Association better than she found it
    The recipient will be honored, along with the LPGA’s Act Like a Founder Award recipient, at the annual LPGA Bank of Hope Founders Cup tournament held in Phoenix, AZ each year.

    The winner of the Nancy Oliver – Act Like a Founder Award will receive:
    • Round trip airfare, 4 nights lodging, ground transportation for the LPGA Bank of Hope Founders Cup event in Phoenix, AZ
    • Award presentation & recognition at the LPGA Pioneer Dinner held during the Founders Cup tournament week
    • Special interaction with the LPGA Founders and LPGA Tour players at the event
    Nominations for volunteers may be submitted by any LPGA Amateurs member and may include member volunteers or leaders (past and present).  Nominees must have a minimum of 5 cumulative years of volunteer service and must be a current member in good standing. Please note, the nominee is not required to have LPGA Amateurs leadership experience to be nominated.
     
    We encourage you to nominate a fellow member who exemplifies the qualities of a Founder. The submission deadline is September 30, 2019 and the Nancy Oliver – Act Like a Founder Award winner will be announced on November 15, 2019.  Nominations are now being accepted through this online form.
  • Congratulations to our Orange County 2019 Cal Cup Team who placed 2ND and won 75% of their matches over a two-day period against other Chapters of California.  We came up 1 match short of winning and the Fresno Chapter took home the 2019 trophy this year. GREAT JOB!!!!!

    Women's Golf Day 2019 events are being scheduled for June 4, 2019 and we hope you will take advantage of these fun events designed to celebrate women's golf around the world.     The LPGA Amateurs Golf Department is hosting a second 2019 Rules Update Webinar to provide members with information about the changes in the 2019 USGA golf rules.  The webinar will be held on Tuesday, April 30 at 7:00pm EDT (6:00pm CDT, 5:00pm MDT and 4:00pm PDT). All members are invited to attend this webinar, the webinar will be recorded if members are unable to attend live. Register here.

  • Biggest Loser Handicap Challenge Is Back!

    The goal of this National challenge is to lower your Handicap Index. Participants are flighted and the winners of each flight will receive a prize. The player who lowers her Handicap Index by the most strokes will win the Grand Prize - a round of golf for the winner and a guest with 2-time LPGA Major Champion, Brittany Lincicome!

  • Women On Par Scholarship Applications Open
    The Women on Par Scholarship Program has officially launched for 2019! This year the focus has been narrowed in order to have a more direct impact on our members and their family’s lives. We’re excited to announce we have changed the eligibility requirements to only LPGA Amateur members, daughters and granddaughters of members. The 2019 Women on Par Scholarship application will remain open until 200 applications are received or May 31 of the application year – whichever occurs first. Click here to read more about Women on Par and the eligibility requirements.
  • LPGA Amateurs 2020 Golf Schedule   Golf Ball Calendar
     

    The mission of LPGA Amateurs is to connect women through golf and provide a welcoming community for all LPGA Amateurs members. In line with this mission, the current Championship and Cup Calendar have been restructured for 2020 and a few new events have been added to the schedule. We hope to add more events in the future with the goal of providing playing opportunities to all LPGA Amateurs members throughout the year at varying price points and different skill levels.

    PLEASE NOTE: A survey will be sent out regarding the National Event calendar in the coming weeks. We ask you to please take a minute to fill it out as your feedback is always helpful to the organization. Check out the 2020 schedule at this link.
