Palm Beach County Chapter
Chapter News & Announcements
  • Our intention is to run all four Majors in 2020: Scramble Open, Cup Finals, Championship Finals and Stableford. Below are the confirmed locations and dates of three of the four Majors in 2020:

    Scramble Open & Stableford:

    • IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do NOT contact Pinehurst about either an existing or new reservation at this time. We will send a notice out when Pinehurst is able to field these requests.
    • If your registration is currently confirmed for Scramble Open or Stableford you will NOT need to register again.
    • If your registration is confirmed for either Scramble Open or Stableford and the dates and/or facility do not work with your schedule, you have until April 30, 2020, to cancel your registration for a full refund. Please do not try to cancel your registration using Golf Genius, please contact for any cancellations.
    • Once cancellations have been processed and new active member registrations have been completed, if either the Scramble Open or Stableford are oversubscribed, we will host a watch party for a live lottery drawing for entry into the oversubscribed event.
    • If either event does not fill to capacity, registration for that event will remain open until the event fills or until the registration cutoff date (TBD), whichever comes first.

Regional Cup & Sectional Championship Qualifiers:

    • The everchanging environment and uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 has led us to make the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Regional Cup Qualifiers and Sectional Championship Qualifiers.

    Cup & Championship Finals:

    • Registrations for Cup & Championship Finals will open shortly to all active members. An email will be sent out in the near future with all the details for registrations.
    • Since we are not conducting qualifiers, we have expanded the number of exemptions into these Majors as is typical for similar events within our industry. They are as follows:
    • Exemptions into Cup Finals are the 2019 Champions, 2nd place and 3rd place teams.
    • Exemptions into Championship Finals are the 2018 and 2017 Overall Champions, 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Low Gross and Low Net winners in each flight from 2019.
    • IMPORTANT NOTE: Once registrations have been completed if either the Cup or Championship Finals are oversubscribed, we will host a watch party for a live lottery drawing for entry into the oversubscribed event.

  • This evening we received notification from LPGA Headquarters recommending that ALL Chapter activities and social events be suspended due to the Coronavirus / COVID 19. This recommendation is being taken very seriously by your board and effectively immediately we are suspending ALL scheduled golf and social events until further notice. It is our hope that this suspension of activity will be short-lived and that we will be able to resume scheduled play as soon as possible. We will keep you informed on a week by week basis. But, at this point in time, your health and safety are more important to us.

     | The suspended activities include all league play, weekend play and scheduled social related events. This means that there will be no coordinated golf or social events taking place under the umbrella of our chapters name. This does not mean that you as members cannot chose to play on your own or on self-scheduled golf activities.

     | We ask all members to be diligent in regard to hygiene practices wherever you are and to be cognizant of opportunities to protect yourself, your loved ones and others around you.

  • The vision to unify the six different handicap systems in use around the world into a single World Handicap System required the commitment of, and collaboration between, many organizations. All of the following organizations have provided their support to this important initiative and played their part in establishing the key principles, which shaped the proposals and drove forward the initiative to the point where a new World Handicap System can be introduced to the golfing world in 2020.
