    • Message from the Board President

      Dear Members,

I hope this message finds you all well. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this month's newsletter, which contains important updates and reminders for our community. Please feel free to share this newsletter with your friends, relatives, other groups, and businesses to help spread the word about our Chapter.

As we move forward, our board of directors is diligently organizing a lineup of monthly events for the year ahead. It is crucial to read all the information provided in detail, as there have been some changes from previous years. Additionally, I encourage you to sign up for any events that pique your interest as soon as possible, as spaces tend to fill up quickly.

Reminder 2024 Membership Renewal: I urge everyone to ensure they have renewed our Chapter for the 2024 golf season. If you have any questions or need assistance with the sign-up process, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

2024 League Sign Up: SHOUT OUT TO OUR 200 plus MEMBERS! I encourage every member to Get out and PLAY more GOLF! I am hoping for record breaking participation this year! Sign up today, have fun, challenge yourself, and make friends!

This year the Chapter will offer weekend 9-HOLE PLAY. Members have asked for this format for several years and I want to help make this happen. All play will be held at 9-hole courses only. For those who only want to play 9 holes and are interested I encourage you to sign up so we can move forward and plan. I am looking for at least 8 ladies for this league.

2024 SPONSORSHIP:  Sponsorship plays a vital role in sustaining our Chapter, and I would like to emphasize the importance of supporting our sponsors. They are the backbone of our organization, and I kindly urge everyone to consider doing business with them whenever possible. As part of our commitment to our sponsors, I have recommended to our board that all major golf events be held exclusively at sponsored golf courses this year. Your support of this plan is greatly appreciated, as it reinforces our gratitude to those who support us.

In closing, I want to express my gratitude to every one of you (especially those who volunteer) for your continued dedication and support. Together, we can make the 2024 golf season a resounding success.

      Warm regards,

      Mary Faggiano

    • Roc'ing Renewal for 2024

Our Chapter 2024 membership renewal rate as of February 19th is almost 87%!

According to LPGA Amateurs national statistics, the Rochester Region Chapter is in the top 10 nationally for membership renewals. That's amazing! Thanks to all of you who have renewed your membership for 2024.

If you haven't already, please consider renewing your membership soon. Membership renewal rates increase after March 31st.

    • Good Times at Oak Hill

On February 10th, we had a great time at Oak Hill Country Club at our Kick-off Brunch...a record turnout of 96 members and guests! Our Guest Speaker was Sandra Doorley, Monroe County District Attorney. We all enjoyed her presentation as she walked us through the many functions of her office. Also being a golfer, Sandra shared how her father, who was a caddie, often had her working on her putting.

Representing our ACE Sponsors were Meredith Glenning of the Rochester District Golf Association (RDGA), Alecia Fisher Dougherty of Naviter Wealth, and Debby Murphy of Webster GC.

The 50/50 drawing collected $1583, half of which was donated to RDGA Foundation, Inc. The Foundation exists to grow Junior Golf in Rochester. Jerry Stahl, past President of Oak Hill CC and an avid supporter of RDGA, shared information about the Foundation and how Junior Golf has grown significantly over recent years.

We wouldn't be able to have some terrific events such as our Brunch without the dedicated help from our volunteers. A huge thank you to our Brunch Event Coordinator, Anne Levitt. Other volunteers included: Mary Roat, Marie Bianchi, Donna Hall, Terri Drawe, Kathryn Douglas, Maureen Kohler, Brenda Pitts, Colleen O'Mara and Luanna Andrews.

    • Another Hole In One!

This time it's Wendy Bolton with the amazing shot. Wendy described it as a "miracle," but based on Wendy's excellent play, it was inevitable.

She made it on October 27th on the 8th hole at the Links at Ivy Ridge in Akron, NY with an 8-iron playing about 101 yards with a strong head wind. Chapter member Kathy Cashion was Wendy's playing partner.

      Congratulations Wendy!
