A great time was had by all at our recent social at Parscription Golf, put on my our fabulous events coordinator, Mary Wallis. Many of us went home with new golf equipment & accessories, plus a new member joined us for the festivities! Thank you, Mary, for a great time and delicious snacks! The board discussed paying for no-shows so
that the golf courses do not lose money after reserving the tee times
for us. However, this would be very costly to our club’s budget and is
not sustainable. It would put our budget in the hole.
As
mature women, we need to take responsibility for our decisions. When we
sign up for a tee time, we need to treat it as a “commitment,” just as
we would a doctor’s appointment, required meeting, etc., and not just
something to do if it’s convenient that day. If the deadline
to cancel passes, and someone is unable to play, they either need to
find a replacement or be willing to pay for their missed tee time slot.
Of course, there are going to be occasions when illness strikes
unexpectedly at the last minute, and exceptions would be made.

The R&A and the USGA have released the most recent edition of the Rules of Golf, effective January 2023.
