  • That 70s Tournament Grooves at Richmond Country Club

It was all flower power, peace signs, and psychedelic flair at Richmond Country Club on August 17 for “That 70s Tournament.” A small but mighty—and seriously groovy—field turned out in full retro spirit on a perfect day for golf.

Kim Edwards took home low gross honors, while Jean Luisi claimed low net in the four-person best ball. In the scramble format, the far-out foursome of Colleen Vuono, Kristan McClintock, Linda Loiselle, and Jeannine Thibault peaced outwith a one-stroke win. Jennifer Flather won the longest drive contest, man. Thanks to everyone who time traveled with us!

  • Flamingos, Fairways & Fundraising: A Flock-tastic Day at Swansea!

Our Charity Tournament on July 19 at Swansea Country Club was anything but ordinary — it was a fla-mazing celebration of community, competition, and pink-feathered fun! Dressed head-to-toe in vibrant pink and cruising in flamingo-decorated carts, fourteen spirited teams took to the course in a shotgun start on a picture-perfect summer day.

From air gun drives to creative on-course contests (and maybe a few mulligans along the way), the excitement never let up. After 18 fun-filled holes, the fabulous foursome of Bonnie Beeley, Jean Luisi, Kim Weiss Edwards, and Pam Brissette soared to victory with a sizzling score of 66!

But the biggest win of the day? The incredible generosity of our sponsors, league members, and players, who helped us raise over $4,000 for Adoption Rhode Island.

A giant thank-you to our flock of volunteers, especially Linda Loiselle, Bonnie Beeley, Pam Medeiros, Pat Medeiros, Maryann Navin, and Lauren Machado, for helping make the day truly un-flock-gettable.

  • New England Cup Results

The 2024 New England Cup was held on June 21st at Agawam Hunt Country Club. We were fortunate to enjoy a beautiful—albeit warm—day, and everyone handled the heat with great spirit and enthusiasm.

Next year, we look forward to Connecticut (either Central CT or Fairfield) taking the lead as host for the event.

This year’s tournament featured strong participation:

    • Boston fielded two teams of 8 players each

    • Rhode Island also brought two teams of 8 players each

    • Central Connecticut had one team of 8 players

As always, only one team can take home the title—and this year’s winning team was from Boston, scoring 60 points and 48.5 points across their two teams.

Rhode Island followed very closely behind with scores of 59.5 and 55 points, making it a tightly contested finish.
Central Connecticut rounded out the standings with 47 points—a solid showing and great sportsmanship all around.

Thank you to all who participated and contributed to making this event a success. Your teamwork, camaraderie, and commitment to the game are what make this tournament so special.

  • Kim Edward Defends LPGA Amateur Team Championship Title

The 2025 LPGA Amateur Team Championship was held June 13-14, 2025, at the Barefoot Resort & Golf Course in North Myrtle Beach. The teams competed on the Dye Course in a 36-hole competition of two formats:  a two-person Fourball and a two-person Scramble. RI Chapter member Kim Edwards and Boston Chapter member Denise Rondeau, overall winners of the 2024 Team Championship, returned to defend their title, under the moniker Ham & Cheese! While they fell short of a repeat, they won 1st Place in their Division. Congratulations, ladies! Well done!
