 Interactive Introduction to the New Golf Rules

The LPGA Amateurs Chicago Metro chapter invites you to 2019 USGA New Rules Review at Rich Harvest Farms Golf Course, site of the 2009 Solheim Cup. 

Please join us as we review the 2019 Rule Changes that will be in effect for the upcoming golf season at this amazing facility! We will use this great opportunity to learn in an interactive setting. We will present the new rules to the group and use their indoor/outdoor practice area to illustrate the changes. Please bring a putter and a couple of clubs to the event. Great opportunity to learn the rule changes especially if you plan on competing in the Championship, Cup during the season.  

No charge for this event! Lunch is included.

  • LPGA Amateurs Chicago Metro Members, you are invited to take part in a "hands-on" clinics at Makray Memorial Golf Club offered by their PGA Golf Professionals. 

    Short Game Fundamentals
    April 28, 2019
    8:30 am - 10 am
    $35 Payable to course when you arrive.

    The short game clinic will cover the 3 most important shots you need to have when your ball is off the green: the Chip Shot, the Pitch Shot and the Greenside Bunker Shot plus help with Putting. Just bring your putter, chipping club, and a sand wedge for the areas to be worked on. The fee will be $35.00 payable at Makray Memorial Golf Club when you arrive. The clinic is limited to 10 golfers.  PLEASE RESERVE A SPOT BY CALLING THE GOLF SHOP AT MAKRAY AT (847)381-6500.

    Full Swing Fundamentals

    $35 Payable to course when you arrive.

    The full-swing clinic will focus on fundamentals, identifying faults and corrections and development as a player and will utilize their video analysis system. Bring your clubs.
    The fee will be $35.00 payable at Makray Memorial Golf Club when you arrive. The clinic is limited to 10 golfers.  PLEASE RESERVE A SPOT BY CALLING THE GOLF SHOP AT MAKRAY AT (847)381-6500.

  • 2019 Chapter Match Play Tournament

    This tournament is for anyone who has in interest in learning to play match play golf. In match play, players win lose or halve a hole. The winner in match play is the player who wins the most holes. Handicaps are used to even out the matches. Players are paired
    with someone of a similar handicap to play a match, they decide on a location, reserve a tee time, play the match and report the outcome of the match to Nancy Haney. This tournament is very flexible, fun, and you meet lots of people.

    Check these ofter to see who your next opponent is. Remember you are not out of the tournament until you have two losses. Schedule your match as soon as possible! You must play your match by the dates assigned.

    Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each bracket!

  • The Women on Par Scholarship Program has officially launched for 2019! This year we have narrowed our focus in order to have a more direct impact on our members and their family’s lives.   • New Chapter Sites have launched. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped to launch their new Chapter sites!
  • The LPGA Women’s Network has launched their new podcast “Talk Birdie to Me.”  Hosted by former LPGA Tour player turned journalist Anya Alvarez, this podcast is the first of its kind and is dedicated to sharing conversations centered around women's golf and the issues you care about most.  Click here to listen to the first episode featuring Cheyenne Woods and Shasta Averyhardt who share their thoughts on diversity and representation in golf.

Participating as a volunteer can bring a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment in contributing to the success of our Chapter, provide opportunities to enhance your professional and personal skills, allow you to expand and deepen friendships, and—of course—it is a lot of fun! 

Our Chapter would not exist without all of our wonderful members and volunteers. Volunteer positions include: acting as a League Site Captain, helping run Chapter Events (golf, social & educational), and serving on the Chapter Board and/or one of the Board Committees.

Even if you only have time to volunteer at one event or for a couple of hours—we would love for you to get involved!
