The Fort Lauderdale Area Chapter of LPGA Amateurs was originally chartered in 1993 as part of the Executive Women's Golf Association [EWGA]. From the first meeting of approximately 15 women, our local chapter has experienced a real passion for the organization and currently has over 250 members. There are three Charter members who remain active to this day. In 2018 the EWGA became a part of the Ladies Professional Golf Association and was rebranded as the Fort Lauderdale Area Chapter of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association.
The Fort Lauderdale Chapter provides an environment that encourages women to learn to play and enjoy the game of golf. The Chapter offers members of all skill levels opportunities to play at many local golf courses. In addition, the Chapter sponsors at least 6 events per year. We also proudly support both local and national charities. They include fund raisers for breast and ovarian cancer as well as for the Pantry of Broward and Women In Distress.
Our Chapter is a non- profit, volunteer managed organization. It is an excellent avenue for meeting new friends, entertaining clients and guests, and learning a game that one truly can play for a lifetime. We provide a venue for women of all skill levels and backgrounds to get together to have fun. Here is where great friendships are made!
