2019 Year in Review
It has been quite a year for our chapter! Here are some highlights:
Our first event of 2019 was the Post Holiday luncheon at Cranbury. As usual lots of fun , especially the White elephant give exchange!
We had a great start of the season with our Tee Off at Mercer Oaks. 74 women attended the luncheon and received some golf tips from Patti Reef. Produced our first Handbook for the chapter which met with great reviews!
Members brushed up on their skills in a series of clinics held at Neshanic and Tinton Falls. 23 members attended the Rules clinic to get a heads up on recent changes.
The weather gods brought some disruption during the season causing clinics and events to be canceled and rescheduled. League play was also effected by members still got lots of golf in this season!
The Events Committee held events at some new venues, including Spooky Brook, and some old favorites like Sea Oaks. Attendance at the outings averaged 18 women per outing.
Our annual Play for PINK outing was very successful; the blistering heat of August caused a reschedule to September.
Leagues got into full swing in April with over 65 participants. Ann Mackey's Tour of the Shore brought league play to Monmouth County for the first time.
The Match Play Team Scramblers did the chapter proud, advancing to the Finals and placing 17th out of 51 teams. They won all their fourball matches
The winners of the Local Chapter Qualifier also did their part in representing our chapter well at the sectionals. Marge Zietchick played in first flight at Nationals, placing 27 out of 37 players gross and 20 out of 37 net.
We closed the season with a lovely Final Putt event at Royce Brook. There were many wonderful prizes to be had in the silent and Chinese auction !
.....and now we prepare for 2020 and another wonderful golf season!
