The LPGA Foundation and its Programs embrace diversity and welcome women and men of every age, race, religion, and golf skill level. The LPGA Amateur Golf program believes that the practice of valuing and celebrating diversity will strengthen the status of women, which is vital to our organization’s vision and mission.

The Fort Lauderdale Chapter welcomes guests to participate at events and golf outings. Male guests are invited to play on Sundays with our organized groups. Female guests may play weekdays and Saturdays up to three times before being asked to join our Chapter.

Many of our larger events require pre-payment. The Fort Lauderdale Chapter may or may not offer a refund depending on the cancellation policy of each individual venue. Generally, refunds for an event fee - which include both golf and refreshments - may be issued in full less a processing fee provided the individual cancels at least 10 days prior to the event.  Payments for golf only events can usually be refunded if cancelled 72 hours prior to the event.  After this time there will be no refunds. Exception: If a replacement signs up and/pays, then a refund can be processed. The Chapter will make every effort to provide full or partial refund when cancellation is due to reasons beyond the control of a chapter member.

All chapter leaders and volunteers who incur expenses on behalf of the chapter will be reimbursed. For events, the chair will submit a report of revenues and expenses to our Treasurer and attach all receipts. For miscellaneous expenses, volunteers may scan, fax or mail their receipts to our Treasurer for reimbursement.  Print out form HERE

All chapter members and guests who participate in an LPGA Amateur Golf-sponsored golf event have coverage as a result of an accidental injury. The MAPP policy provides coverage for medical and dental expenses up to $25,000. Injuries must be reported to the chapter's Board of Directors within one year of the accident. To make an insurance claim, contact the LPGA Foundation's Chief Financial Officer at 561-691-0096 x124.

Our Chapter is part of the LPGA Foundation, a national organization that is centered on building relationships and enriching the lives of women through the game of golf. We are all about connecting women to learn, play and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life. The LPGA Amateur Golf Assn embraces diversity and welcomes women and men of every age, race, religion, and golf skill level. They believe that the practice of valuing and celebrating diversity will strengthen the status of women, which is vital to our organization’s vision and mission.

LPGA Amateur Golf is the largest women’s amateur golf association in the world. Formerly  known as the Executive Women’s Golf Association, the organization maintains 12,000 members in over 100 local chapters. It also hosts more than 7,500 local and national activities every year, including social outings, league play, networking opportunities and competitive amateur events such as the LPGA Amateur Golf Championship and the LPGA Amateur Golf Cup.

Do I have to be a good golfer to join the LPGA Amateurs?

No, you do not have to be a good or experienced golfer to join any chapter of the LPGA Amateur Golf Assn. In fact, many of our members are beginning golfers who have improved since joining, and they remember what it was like to be a new golfer.

We recommend new golfers take lessons from a PGA or LPGA golf professional. A good program to start off with is Get Golf Ready, taught at Palm-Aire CC in Pompano Beach. See this LINK to learn more. We also recommend several instructors in the area for either group clinics or private instruction listed below.

Once new golfers have taken a lesson series, our chapter tries to provide an environment where women can learn to play golf without pressure, pairing new golfers with experienced players willing to mentor them. We schedule league play at several different local courses covering a range of difficulty to help accommodate golfers of all skill levels.

  • Being a member of LPGA Amateurs is the best way to learn the game!

Learn about the HANDICAP system, How to Post Scores, and Manual Entry of Scores
  • Remember to post all your scores at this LINK

Our PGA professional instructors and partners have put together clinics for our Fort Lauderdale Chapter members at a discounted rate.  Please contact them directly for complete schedules and private lessons. We promote special clinics on our website and newsletters as well.
