LPGA Amateur Golf Association "Leagues"
In this time of COVID-19, we are fortunate that golf courses are allowed to operate as an outdoor recreation opportunity with specified guidelines and restrictions. Golf course restrictions will need to be adhered to during our league play. This means that the league is really just providing tee times. Please remember that proper social distancing needs to be maintained at all times. Therefore, there should be no congregating before and after your tee time. Also, please do not visit the golf courses if you are exhibiting any symptoms of illness. With everyone's cooperation, we can enjoy our love of golf during this unprecedented time! Stay safe everyone!  Please visit the below websites for up-to-date COVID-19 guidelines for each course.

Our Chapter Needs Volunteers!

The LPGA Amateur Golf Association is an organization that is run by volunteer talent. It takes a collection of skills and abilities to deliver the value that we all enjoy. We need YOU. Sign-up for one of our current volunteer opportunities. Use your current skills or develop new ones in a friendly non-threatening environment. The LPGA Amateur Golf Association is committed to advancing the leadership skills of our members. Use a volunteer opportunity to develop your skills. Imagine the possibilities of this organization if we all gave just a little!  We are looking for volunteers to join the following committees:

Volunteer – Get involved and get to know the members.  Widen your circle of friends and opportunities for golf or even movies, dinners out, happy hours, etc.  Maybe you would even like to run for an office next year.  Get Involved!

Golf Events – Event coordinators need assistance staffing registration tables, filling “goodie bags” and selling split-the-pot or 50:50 raffle tickets.

Membership – Distribute marketing materials to local businesses and welcome new members as well as reach out to former members.

Communications – Know an interesting story about a member or want to do an interview with a member?  Prepare short articles to submit to our Par Fore the Course newsletter.

Leagues/Handicap – If you are interested in being a league captain or co-captain, contact one of the Board members.  Do you use your golf handicap? If so, perhaps you can help show others in your league how to establish, maintain and use a handicap.

Social – Are you fun, creative and love to be involved with people?  Consider helping plan and organize our Chapter social events.

Golf Mentoring & Education – Our new golfers in the instructional league need to play with experienced golfers.  You don’t have to be a great golfer to show a beginner proper course etiquette and pace of play tips.

Contact anyone on the Board of Directors to get additional information about a volunteer opportunity.

Travel Leagues (2)

WeekEND Travel League

The WeekEND Travel League (WTL) is the largest league for the Dayton Chapter.  In 2019, the WTL had 61 registered golfers. The goals for 2020 are to increase the number of registered golfers, to increase event participation, to provide more incentives for including all handicaps, to improve handicap education and MOST IMPORTANT … to have fun!

This league usually plays twice a month on Saturday or Sunday.  Various courses are played and tee times vary.  League begins in May and plays through September. There is an administrative fee of $15 & you pay the course directly whenever you play. For this league, you must have a GHIN to participate.

Co-Captains: Donna Sonnenberg & Mary Rice
Register

WeekDAY Travel League

Wednesday Travel League is a very informal league made up of anyone who likes to experience a different course each week. There is no limit to the number of players and a GHIN is not required.

Generally, we tee off around 9:00 am, play 18 holes under $30.00 and end with a light lunch together at a local eatery.  The schedule is set up at least a month in advance.  You sign up when you are able to play on a week-to-week basis through email to the captain.  You can sign up and play as often as you like and wherever you like.

Captain:  Linda Lee

Sub Policy
Pre-paid leagues use subs to fill open tee times.  Sub fee is $10 per league if you are not already part of a pre-paid league.  If you have already signed up in a pre-paid league (Beavercreek, Yankee Trace & Community), you can sign up to sub in other leagues for free (except WeekDAY & WeekEND travel leagues).
Beavercreek Monday
Yankee Trace Tuesday
Yankee Trace Wednesday.

Rain Policy
Leagues at Beavercreek and Yankee are pre-paid for each session.  Unless play is officially cancelled by the captain (in agreement with the club pro) PRIOR to the first tee time that night, NO RAINCHECKS ARE GIVEN.  Each participant is responsible to be at the course early enough to be on the tee and ready to play at the assigned time, or to have notified the captain ahead of time of her inability to play.  The captain will then attempt to find a sub to play that night.  The original player does NOT get a refund for missed play dates.

Our goal is to introduce beginning golfers with an introductory program of skills, procedures and course play while also providing experienced golfers with a refresher course of basics.  Below are our educational offerings.
