A Message from our Chapter President:

The 2021 season is off to a great start!  We have welcomed over 20 new members to the chapter and are pleased to see the return of so many!   After kicking off the season virtually we are once again on the golf course enjoying the company of chapter members and even some great golf shots!

Our monthly weekend events have begun with a great outing at RiverWinds and will continue with events scheduled at a variety of great venues throughout the season.  New in 2021 - we have a new joint outing - we will play with our Philly chapter friends at Heron Glen in June.  Last year we had an outing with them and had a great time, so we made it formal in 2021.  In addition, CNJ is working with 6 other chapters in the tri-state area on a single day scramble event in the latter part of the season.  More details to come on this event when it’s available.  League play is also underway as well with our Friday afternoon league, the Wanderers starting soon.

As a member, take advantage of discounts that are offered through our national office from national and regional retailers – you have free admission to any LPGA professional events as well.  There are 2 tournaments in NJ this year - the Shoprite Classic outside of Atlantic City, and the Founders Cup in West Caldwell.  The national website, www.lpgaamateurs.com, is the place to find details on our member benefits.

Volunteers are what make this organization successful.  We welcome members who want to help keep our chapter running.   Events, Communications, Memberships – all 3 of these areas could use additional help. Please select the volunteer signup link below for information on signing up to assist.

Enjoy all the chapter, and LPGA Amateurs, has to offer and have a great golf season!

Donna Beland

2021 EVENTS

The month of May features two weekend outings:

On May 15th at Berkshire Valley Golf Club in Oak Ridge, NJ for Match Play with the Westchester Chapter.  Enjoy some friendly competition and get to know our neighboring chapter!  Consisting of 600 acres in the picturesque Highlands region of northern New Jersey, the 18-hole, par 71 - 6,800 yard, public golf course presents unique challenges atop the ridge of Green Pond Mountain. The topography and spectacular views of this course make it unlike any other rewarding golfing experience and a "must-play" for every golfer.
On May 22 at Quail Brook Golf Club in Somerset, NJ for a chapter weekend outing. This 18 hole, 6,617 yard course is heavily wooded and is known for its rolling front nine and tight, hilly back nine.

Need to brush up on your golf skills?   Join us for a Skills Clinic on June 5th at Mercer Oaks Golf Course in Princeton Junction, NJ.  The teaching staff of the Mercer Golf Academy will provide instruction on various aspects of the game including putting, drivers and short game.

June is a busy month for outings as well.  On Sunday, June 13th join us at Cream Ridge in Cream Ridge, NJfor a weekend outing.  The course opened in 1958 and features a layout of great variety that offers a challenge to players at all levels.

Our Annual Joint Outing with the Northern New Jersey chapter takes place on June19th at Galloping Hill Golf Club in Kenilworth, NJ. Characterized by its natural terrain of rolling hills and valleys, the course is often referred to as “the Hill”.

And on June 26th members of the Philadelphia chapter will join us for a Joint Outing at the Heron Glen Golf Course in Ringoes, NJ.  This course transformed the famed Kuster Farm site into one of New Jersey’s finest golf facilities, characterized by beautiful bent grass from tee to green surrounded by mature trees and rolling vistas.

Our Events Committee has an exciting season planned!  Our monthly events will revisit some favorites of the past and journey to some new venues.   Check out the schedule under “Chapter Events”
