World Handicap System. As of Jan 2020 the six different handicap systems in use around the world were unified into a single World Handicap System, and all handicap service providers use the same calculation method and the same course rating database.
Posting Season: While it varies by state, here in Oregon and Washington, the posting season is Mar 1-Nov 30--meaning we cannot post rounds played locally during Dec, Jan and Feb. However, many states allow year-round posting. If you're playing somewhere with a year-round active season, go ahead and post those rounds. Getting Started. LPGA Ams PDX members wishing to create/maintain a handicap index are invited, at their option, to join the Chapter's Oregon Golf Association (OGA) club to get a GHIN (Golf Handicap Index Network) account for an annual fee of $37. The fee includes a handicap account and ALL other benefits of OGA membership.

*Important Notice For Returning Golfnet users: The Golfnet Handicap service previously offered as part of your annual membership has been discontinued, effective Dec 31, 2022. If you wish to maintain a handicap this year, you may transfer your scoring history to the GHIN system by joining the Chapter's GHIN/OGA club ($37 per year) or another OGA golf club. When joining a club, be sure to provide your GolfNet CCID# so your scoring history is transferred. Email the Assn Handicap team with Qs.
