Each team consists four players, divided into two person groups and the format is a two-person best ball with Stableford points. Two players are paired to play individual stroke play using 85% of their course handicap with stokes (aka “pops”) given per hole depending on the course rating of difficult and easy holes. Each two-person team will use the better ball with the higher points from one player’s gross score per hole. Stableford points are from 1 (for a net double bogey) to 8 (that’s for a hole in one!) given for each hole. Maximum playing handicap is 36.
LPGA Amateurs has two teams, Lilac and Lily and LPGA Lilac came in 2nd place and LPGA Lily placed 11th place last year.

WHAT IS SILVER CUP?
A tradition unlike any other in Nevada women’s amateur golf, Silver Cup originated in 1993 and is an annual
3-day competition between 20-player teams from Northern Nevada against Southern Nevada. The event location alternates between north and south region and in 2026 is at prestigious Las Vegas Country Club.
It is an honor to earn a spot on the team for this fierce and friendly “Solheim Cup”-style competition. Players qualify based on gross or net results at the individual stroke play qualifier competition, so the Silver Cup matches typically feature players of similar handicaps (all matches are net play).
Whether the matches are between 16-handicappers or single-digit handicappers, you can be sure that each player will be grinding it out and giving it their all to win that point for their side. You can read more about the history and results of Silver Cup at: https://nevadagolf.org/silver-cup/.
Being on a Silver Cup team is a fun and memorable experience, an amazing opportunity to test your competitive skill and spirit -- and make new friends. Plus, you get really cool uniform shirts!
The North team is defending the title won at Somersett GC last year – come help us win it again!
