Volunteer

OPEN POSITIONS - Become a Volunteer
Join a fabulous group of women who love creating fun!  Our chapter is completely run by member volunteers.  We need your help and support! We need members to help develop several areas. Please review our chapter's full list volunteer positions and their estimated time commitment.

"I never thought volunteering for the LPGA Ams NNV could be so rewarding. We created this chapter from the ground up, and the women who donated their time to build this community say it has been so fulfilling."

Do you have a few hours a week to help us grow the Northern Nevada Chapter? If you’re interested in volunteering, please email lpga.amateurs.nnv@gmail.com and include Volunteer in the subject line.

List of volunteers we need soon:

  • Holiday Banquet - Time commitment (2-4 hours): Assist at end of season banquet (December 12, 2026) by helping to set-up at the event venue, work registration desk, greet members as they arrive, raffle ticket sales, etc.

  • Future President - President 2028! Can you support your chapter by learning this role during 2027 and stepping into this role in 2028? You will have the support of an experienced Treasurer and Secretary. Expect a time commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per week.

  • Kickoff - Time Commitment (2-4 hours at event): Assist at the (April date TBD) Kickoff in areas such as golf bag organization, registration desk, raffle ticket sales, directing members to event areas, set-up assistance, etc.

  • Fundraising and Sponsorship Committee - Time commitment (1-2 hours per month): This is an extremely important committee to raise money to support our daily operations, special tournaments, and the amazing chapter events we had this past year! Can you help keep the sponsorship committee going by connecting with local businesses and decision-makers to establish mutually beneficial sponsorships and donations?

  • Social Events Committee - Time commitment (2-4 hours per month): Can you help the current chair of this committee by collaborating with a team to develop ideas for small social events, help in organizing those activities, and assist day-of events at the venue?

  • Book Club Committee “The Reading Greens.” (2-4 hours per month) Can you help support this new committee, read fun books, and help with monthly themed, social book club events?

List of volunteers we may need throughout the 2027 season:

  • Golf Special Events - Time commitment (5+ hours per event): Can you help with planning, coordinating, and day of organizational tasks for Chapter Tournaments (Championship, Scrambles), Invitational play with other LPGA Amateurs Chapters and local golf outings? We've discussed the possibility of several golf special events  this year, and if there is sufficient interest, we would need help in making those outings a reality.

  • Captain/Co-Captain a League - Time Commitment (5-20 hours per month): If yes, please think about any leagues you would offer to captain.

  • Co-Chair an Overnight Golf Trip - Time commitment (15-20 hours per trip): We need assistance to coordinate overnight golf events and trips, either for the Spring or Fall of 2027. Note: We have Volunteers who have experience with similar events. They will lead this new effort and develop an overnight trip template which will be available for use in planning, but we still need co-chairs to make it happen!

  • Website - Time commitment (2-4 hours per month): Collaborate with several different committees, including the media and content committee, to develop ideas for organizing the website, and help in updating the website. Note, there is an LPGA Amateurs template to follow and standard practices to make this user friendly.

  • Media and Content Committee - Time commitment (2-4 hours per month): Can you help the current committee chair with the chapter’s official social accounts, including Instagram and Facebook, to engage current members and new members? Can you act as a liaison to generate awareness about the chapter's events?

  • Golf Genius Resource - Time commitment (1-4 hours per month): Do you have specific Golf Genius skills that might be useful to our Chapter and have an interest in making those skills available?

  • Membership Committee - Time commitment (1 hour per month): Can you help support the current chair of this committee, welcome new members, and provide reports to leadership on current members?

  • Handicap Committee - Time commitment (1 hour per month): Can you help support the current chair and co-chair of this committee and help educate members?

  • Cal Cup Committee - Time commitment (2+ hours throughout the year): Can you help support the current chair of this committee and help educate members on this annual two-day match play tournament featuring 11 LPGA Amateurs chapters from California and Northern Nevada?

  • High Sierra Team Play Committee - Time commitment (2+ hours throughout the year): Can you help support the current chair of this committee and help educate members on this season long interclub women's golf competition using modified stableford points in Northern Nevada?

  • Mentors - Time commitment 3-4 hours per mentoring event: Are you willing to help our New/Transition golfers? You are not expected to teach them golf! Just guide them with best practices, rules of etiquette on and off the course, pace of play, etc. You can mentor one time, or offer your services every week - that's up to you!

  • Education Committee - Time commitment 3-4 hours per event: Are you willing to assist in planning and implementing golf educational sessions? There will be opportunities both small and large.

  • Take Photos at events - Time commitment 3-4 hours per event: Take photos (Someone with photography skills would be great, but we need individuals who can capture a decent photo, even with their phone). We need someone (or a few people) who will take impromptu photos of our members enjoying themselves with their friends and fellow members at our events and submit those photos to us.

  • Raffle Ticket Sales - Time commitment 2 hours per Event: Would you be willing to sell raffle tickets at one or more events next season?

  • Future Leadership - We need members who are interested in leadership roles on our Chapter's board as well as committee chairs for various activities. Every year we have board members departing who have served their maximum terms, but we also need to have members ready to take on these roles in the event of an emergency. Let us know of your possible interest and one of our current board members will reach out to discuss,  provide you with information, and answer any questions. Time commitment is dependent on role.
