Welcome these new members in October!

New Directors, Officers, and Chairs begin their roles November 1st!
- Oct 12, 2026
But just because we’re winding down our Board year does NOT mean we are winding down our GOLF year! Heck no!!! Cooler temps = better golf weather. (Just my humble opinion, of course.)
Have you signed up for the Fall Getaway at the end of October? The folks at Squaw Valley always show us a great time. And for those of you who are living by faith that I actually exist (you’ve never seen me on the course), I WILL BE THERE! I’ll be the goofball in the Plus Fours. If you haven’t signed up, what are you waiting for??!!!
We are also in the throes of planning our End of Year Celebration! We’re heading back to Texas Star! The event will include brunch, golf for those of you who want to play, recognition of individuals and teams, the ever popular PRIZE WHEEL for random giveaways, the always anticipated 50/25/25 drawing, a fond farewell for those of us leaving the Board, and a raucous HOWDY to the new leaders taking over. Mark your calendars for November 21st and stay tuned for more information.
As my time on the Board comes to a screeching halt on October 31st, I want to thank all of you for your support over the past three years. It’s been a wild and (mostly) fun ride.
I’ve been saying this for the past year, and it will continue to be my personal mantra:
It’s the golf that brings us together, but it’s the friendships that bind us together.
I forever cherish your friendship.

WOW! September is shaping up to be a busy month!
- Sep 7, 2026
‘Tis the season for selecting our Leadership Team for next year! Have you thought about being a part of the planning for your Chapter? Do you play golf regularly with someone you think would be an amazing leader for your Chapter?
Positions we are filling for next year’s team: President, Director, Events Chair, Communications Chair, and Volunteer Coordinator Chair.
We are also preparing for our annual Memorial Event at the end of the month. In keeping with tradition, it will be in conjunction with SUNday FUNday the last Sunday of the month… September 27 at Prairie Lakes. You can sign up through the Event Link in this newsletter.
Finally (and this part is mostly for our newer members who are transplants to the area), prepare yourselves for a roller coaster ride with the weather. September will fool you into thinking it’s time to bring out your Fall wardrobe. Temperatures will jump back and forth (sometimes just a day or two apart) between “Yay! The weather is cooling off!!!” to “What in the heck happened to Fall??!! It’s suddenly Summer again!!!!” I’d like to say you’ll get used to it, but… no.
Stay hydrated. Stay safe.
It’s the golf that brings us together, but it’s the friendships that bind us together!

My how time Flies! Message from the president!
- Aug 6, 2026
My how time flies! It seems that yesterday the Leadership Team was sitting at our December retreat making plans for 2026. And now we are in the throes of planning for next year.
As President, I am convening a nominating committee to help build our leadership team for next year, but we can’t do it without you!
Were you at our Kickoff thinking, “I’ll bet it’s fun to help plan and build an event like this?” Or at last year’s Chapter Championship wondering how to become part of that planning team? Or reading my monthly missives thinking, “Robin could use my help!”
We are looking for leaders at every level. Be a part of one of the planning teams. Be in a support position helping one of the Chairs. Volunteer for a Chair position. Consider being a Director and overseeing the day to day decisions of your Chapter. Bottom line, whether you just want to dip your toe into leadership or dive in headfirst, we have a place for you.
Please use my email below to raise your hand and say, “Put me in coach. I’m ready!” Let me know where your heart is telling you to volunteer.
Our volunteers are the backbone of our Chapter. We can’t wait to bring you into the fun and camaraderie!
It’s the golf that brings us together, but it’s the friendships that bind us together!

Happy 250th Birthday, America! ... and the heat is here!
- Jul 8, 2026
I was in Midland, Texas on June 17, and the temperature that day hit 111. Fortunately, the AC in my friend’s house was working. The temps through the rest of the week never went past 105, but it was still brutal.
As someone who has suffered a heat stroke, I want to encourage you to take extra precautions as we move into the hottest part of the summer. 4th of July parties, getting out on the lake, or playing golf… remember to stay hydrated and find the shade whenever you can.
A quick reminder that the National Summer Virtual Scramble runs July 10 to August 2. Pull together your foursome and compete with scramble teams from all over the country. More info here: 2026 Summer Virtual Scramble Event
Y’all be safe out there, and…
Happy 250th birthday, America!

Congratulations to Shawn Kruger, Sonja Love, Krista Dunham, and Diana Gats (collectively known as the Texas Sweet Tees) for their 4th Flight 2nd place finish with 12.7 under par in the National Scramble Open!
Our Fort Worth Chapter Scramble Championship Mulligan provided some excitement as rain in the area threatened to delay us once again… but we prevailed! Winners of this year’s Scramble Championship were 1st Flight-1st Low Net: Birdie Baddies (53.5) Stephanie Lang, Holly Nemerofsky, Toby Powell, Stephanie Schmidt.
1st Flight-2nd Low Net: Birdie Bunch (53.9) Carrie Shewbart, Ruby Rodriguez, Katy Stellar, Lori Manning.
2nd Flight-1st Low Net: Texas Scramblers (54.8) Deborah Nesselrodt, Cheryl McCally, Margaret Woods, Sue Steffen.
2nd Flight-2nd Low Net: Four Femmes (56.9) Judy Tapscott, Tara Blankenship, Diana Gats, Kim Roseman.

Captains: Lynn Cole & Dani Connell. Team members: Michele Salinas, Shawn Kruger, Valorie Patterson, Laurie Warfield, Tami Bopp, Diana Gats, Krista Dunham, Natasha Hawes, Olivia Billips, and Jeri Phillips. Alternate Stephanie Schmidt. (Cheryl McCally was unable to make the trip.) Your Fort Worth team finished 4th out of 8 teams. They battled hard and made a huge comeback on Day Two, but fell short of bringing home the trophy. Ladies, thank you for representing us so well both on and off the course!
Special thanks to Baird Wealth Management for providing the LSC team shirts!
A continuing reminder that we want to hear from all of you! Let your leadership team know how we’re doing… what we can do better… new ideas we’ve never tried…
It’s the golf that brings us together, but it’s the friendships that bind us together!

Look at all we have going on in this chapter!
- May 14, 2026
Holy smokes! For those of you new to Texas wondering if this crazy weather is “normal,” yep. I won’t go into the science of it, but systems from every direction converge on top of us. Welcome to North Texas!
For all of you, please let us know if you were clobbered by the recent storms, and let us know if/how we can help you. If you were unaffected but could offer assistance, let us know that. Use the email at the bottom of this message.
There is so much going on in our Chapter!
Our Match Play League is organizing and is going to be a blast! Even if you’ve never participated in match play, think about joining. It’s a whole different kind of competition. See details below and on our website.
We have also partnered with one of our members (who is a teaching pro) to teach a series of lessons to our members. Details in this newsletter.
And an ongoing reminder to you: MEMBERS MATTER, and WE ARE LISTENING to YOU! If you have ideas, concerns, or want to jump in and help with events, please email me.
It’s the golf that brings us together, but it’s the friendships that bind us together!
