Linda Darnella Bracey Carter was one of those rare individuals we are blessed and fortunate to meet as we travel through this journey called life. Through her soft spirit and caring personality, Linda had that rare talent of touching peoples lives without even knowing it. People admired her independence and competitiveness as well as her patience and sincerity. Those who knew Linda are truly blessed and fortunate to have met and known such a wonderful, kindhearted lady.
Linda had a soft spirit and loved deeply. Her love for God, family, and golf was obvious. She often shared what she learned in bible study and she spoke frequently of her family and friends. She loved golf and competing, playing on many EWGA/LPGA Cup teams throughout the years. Most recently, she traveled to Pinehurst, NC, where she participated as part of the “Texas Lady Birds” team competing in the 2021 LPGA Open Scramble. During that trip to Pinehurst, Linda met several ladies she knew and played golf with while living in New York and North Carolina. Everywhere she went, someone knew her and loved telling stories about their friendship. She was truly loved by so many individuals.
Linda loved and appreciated the EWGA/LPGA Amateur Ladies from the Fort Worth and Dallas Chapters. She was a dual member and participated in many events. She loved all sports, early mornings, Japanese Steakhouses, and an occasional glass of Moscato wine.
“She was a fun gal with lots of Moxie” - Jan Ray
“I will miss her smile and stockings she wore playing golf; she was a gift from God. I will miss teasing her about her can of ‘Whoop A--’ I knew she kept in her golf bag” – Dani Connell
“She had a soft spirit and will be missed” – Gwen Jones
“I will always remember her laugh as well as her memorable reaction to some bad golf shots. Her most famous phrase for a disappointing golf shot was, ‘Awe !*@% in that slow North Carolina accent” – Lynn Cole
I am sure we can all agree with Lynn Cole when she writes: “I will miss her every day and golfing for me will never be the same”. Linda, thank you for coming into my life and showing me how to live, laugh, and love every day. I will never forget you!!!”
“It is not the length of life, but the depth” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Thank you Deborah Nesselrodt for this wonderful tribute to Linda! The pictures are so representative of Linda.
