Chapter News and Announcements
  • Any posting of scores beginning in 2020 should be done using the rules of the World Handicap System.  There is no need to wait until you can attend official training provided by the Chapter to learn more about the system.  NCGA has some easy to understand video clips that can provide you the basics so that you can correctly post your scores. These can be found on the NCGA website, Toggle over Handicap tab, scroll down to World Handicap System and hit ENTER.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page.  There are 2-3 minute videos explaining this new system.  Here's a sample of one of them regarding maximum scores for posting purposes.

Member Benefits

New Members Who Join October – December 2020 Will Receive a 13 -15 Month Membership!

LPGA Amateurs is offering a special 13 – 15-month membership for anyone who joins for the first time between October through December 2020. Memberships will expire on December 31, 2021. This means new members will receive up to three months free (depending on the month you join). New members will pay full membership rates during this time: Classic - $120; Senior - $85; Young Professional and Military - $65. This offer is only valid for first-time new members and does not apply to members who are rejoining or renewing between October through December 2020. Current members who renew during this time will pay a pro-rated amount.

Update About Membership Renewal Dues in 2020

In the past, members renewed based on the month they originally joined. To simplify the renewal process, LPGA Amateur Golf Association is converting all members to an annual calendar cycle that will begin in January 2021. All member dues are being pro-rated based on an existing member’s renewal month and/or the month when a new member joins so all memberships will expire on December 31, 2020.

Members who renew in September 2020 will pay:
Classic:   $40.00
Senior:    $28.33
Young Professional:  $21.66
Military:   $21.66

Contact our Membership Director, Sheryl Sookman, at if you need additional information.

Volunteer to be part of our CHAPTER COMMUNICATIONS GROUP

We're in need of 10 to 15 volunteers to be part of our Chapter Communications Group.  You'll help by sending an email each month to remind members whose membership is up for renewal. In addition, you'll reach out to fellow LPGA Amateur members about three times a year, to personally invite them to participate in special events such as the Kickoff, Swing for the Girls, and our End of the Year Celebration.

It'll take up very little of your time each month, plus you'll have the opportunity to engage with members you might not otherwise - and might even find some new golfing partners!  Most importantly, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you made an important contribution to the continuing success of the Sacramento Chapter of LPGA Amateurs Golf Association.

Here are the answers to some questions you may have:

WHEN?  Chapter Communications volunteers will be asked to contact at most 10-15 chapter members each month to remind them when their membership is up for renewal, and periodically invite and encourage their participation in a specific event - for example, the Annual Kickoff Brunch or a sponsor's social event.

WHERE?  Calls and emails can be made from the comfort of your home - or anywhere else that works for you.

We want to ensure that EVERY member benefits from all the events, special activities and FUN we have to offer.  While our chapter's growth and retention rates were among the highest nationally last year - and our annual surveys have shown a high degree of member satisfaction - we are committed to doing even better this year.  We particularly want to reach out to new members so that they feel welcome, understand the various events and have an opportunity to ask questions.

So, what are you waiting for?  Email Sheryl Sookman, Membership Director, at and let her know that you'd like to join the Chapter Communications Group!
