Volunteer

Are you looking to do some volunteer work for our Chapter but don't want to get involved in monthly meetings, etc?  We have the perfect solutions for anyone who would like to step up to help.

Committee Chair - Membership

After many years serving on the Board in various roles, our Membership and Handicap Chair has advised that this will be their last term with the Hamilton-Burlington Leadership Team.  This would be a 1 year term to start, and in this role, you would handle the duties on your own or recruit volunteers to join your committee, all for the purpose of coordinating the Membership efforts of the Chapter.  Responsibilities include recruitment of new members, and member services (retention) of current members.  As Committee Chair, your team would work with Golf Events Chair to help plan and host recruitment of new members, golf events for all members, but more importantly be responsible for onboarding new members (welcoming email, how to navigate our website, etc).  We are looking for someone who is outgoing, familiar with our Association and has computer skills.  Attendance to monthly meetings is dependent on whether or not a report to the President is sufficient.

Committee Chair - Handicap

As Handicap Chair, you would firstly be required to take a very short open book test with Golf Ontario.  The term would be one year to start and in this role you would assist in helping with rules, etiquette and handicap education (webinars, workshops), posting scores and providing/validating current handicap indexes for our members who enter into competitions.  Attendance to monthly meetings is dependent on whether or not a report to the President is sufficient.

If you are considering volunteering, sitting in on meetings to get a feel for us, or have questions on how you can help, please contact us at info@lpgamateurshamiltonburlington.ca
