OTHER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITES

OUR COMMITTEES

As a chapter that runs entirely on volunteers, we are always looking for members to lend their time and talents. Beyond hosting individual golf events, you can make a lasting impact by joining one of our standing committees:

  • Tournament Committee: Help organize and execute our larger competitive events, coordinate with courses, and manage tournament logistics.

  • Social Committee: Help plan and execute our off-course gatherings, dinners, and mixers that keep our community connected.

  • Spirit Award Committee: Assist in identifying and celebrating members who embody the true camaraderie and sportsmanship of the game.

  • Election Committee: Ensure the future of our chapter by managing the leadership transition and board nomination process.

OUR BOARD:Serving on the Board of Directors is the ultimate way to shape the future of our chapter and give back to the game we love. As a board member, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated team to steer our strategic direction, manage chapter operations, and ensure we continue to provide a premier experience for all our golfers. It is a rewarding leadership opportunity that allows you to leave a lasting legacy on our community. If you’re looking to play a more integral role in our success, we encourage you to consider stepping into a board position during our next election cycle!

STAY TUNED FOR MORE: If other volunteer opportunities become available wether in our chapter or in our community, they will be announced in our monthly newsletter and posted to the website. We are grateful for your help in making this chapter thrive!

Ai-Hwei YangThe Ai-Hwei Yang Spirit Award

About the Award

Ai-Hwei Yang, one of our most active members, was passionate about golf and the LPGA Amateur Association.  She unselfishly gave her knowledge, time, advice and friendship to the members of the Triangle NC Chapter and truly embodied the spirit in which our Chapter was created.

When Ai-Hwei passed in 2016, a group of members and the Board of Directors decided to keep that spirit and enthusiasm alive by acknowledging each year one member of the LPGA Amateur Association - Triangle NC Chapter who, throughout the year, embodied that spirit, enthusiasm and fellowship.

Please consider nominating a fellow member or even yourself.  We want to recognize an individual who in the past year demonstrated many of the following of Ai-Hwei’s characteristics:

  • Participation in a variety of LPGA Amateurs events and activities
  • Creation of a warm and welcoming culture of positivity within our Chapter
  • Encouragement to develop new friends, professional contacts and to foster friendships and fellowship
  • Enthusiasm for the game and the women of LPGA Amateurs
  • Volunteerism within the Chapter, officially and/or unofficially
  • Authenticity in actions and a sharing in a passion for golf with others
  • Mentorship for members to become the best golfers they could be
  • An affinity for helping others both on and off the course

Nominators should submit the characteristics demonstrated from the list above and describe the actions and rationale that make her/his nominee deserving of this prestigious award.   Any additional information that may assist the Chapter in making the selection may also be added to the form.  Self nominations are also permitted.

Nominations begin in mid-October.  All nominations will be submitted to the full membership for voting starting mid November . The prior years winner will present the award at the Annual Year End Dinner.
