Chapter News and Announcements
  • Our Chapter Events Calendar for 2021 is now posted under the Events>Chapter Events tabs above. Of special note, our Tee Off Event will be held Saturday, April 3rd with food, golf and fun for all. Watch for an Evite and sign up as soon as possible, as this should be a very popular event. Our first official outing of the year will be Saturday, March 20th at Devil's Ridge Golf Club, followed the next Saturday, March 27th by an outing at Wil-Mar Golf Club. If you are an active member, you should receive Evites to these events. Please let us know if you do not receive them.
  • GOLFTEC is now offering FREE Virtual Lessons in the GOLFTEC App while their centers are temporarily closed. This one-on-one lesson with a GOLFTEC Certified Coach uses our video analysis technology and expert insight to give you a full featured virtual lesson. Far from generic video instruction, you'll be working in real-time with a Coach who is focused on your specific lesson. A GOLFTEC Virtual Lesson leverages our proven training system, proprietary TECSWING technology and the expertise of our certified coaches to deliver a full lesson experience. We use video conference tools directly in our app to conduct live 30 minute lessons you can attend on your computer, tablet or phone. This service is a great way to keep your improvement going! To book your FREE Virtual Lesson or to learn more visit!
  • We’ll all missing our golf and social opportunities, and you have seen a lot of information from us as this crisis unfolds. But here’s something that is relevant beyond just our chapter.  Our Membership Director, Naoko Higashide, has been working with her software development team to build a screening tool for the COVID-19 virus.  The tool serves in two ways: 1) helps focus healthcare resources on patients that really need help, and 2) calms fears and reduces demand on the system from people who are unlikely to need immediate assistance or testing.  Her team is working with multiple locations to integrate the application with healthcare and governmental agencies’ back-end systems, starting with the agencies in Houston/Harris County, TX.

A freestanding version of the screener is now available at  The tool leads you through one or more sets of questions, with each set based on your previous answers.  It then provides an assessment of your current risk level and associated health recommendations.  The tool does NOT collect any personal information, although optionally sharing your zip code helps gather data on the potential level of exposure per region.  (Note that just because you don’t have symptoms does not mean you are not infected.)

Please try it yourself and spread the word about this great tool.  Stay safe…
